G REETINGS FROM THE C HAIRMAN R UBBER ROLLER GROUP NOVEMBER 2013 VOLUME 15 ROLL CALL F ROM THE DESK OF THE VICE P RESIDENT Friends, I hope that all is well with you as 2013 begins to draw to a close. I'd like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to some members of the Rubber Roller Group. First, I'd like to thank Steve Ottaviano for his service to the group as Vice President. Steve stepped back from the role in September, but only after working hard to plan the program for last Spring's RRG General Meeting. I believe I speak for the group as a whole when I say that we are grateful for his efforts in helping to plan the 2013 meeting, in addition to his work with the board generally in his time as Vice President. Second, I'd like to thank Joel Trandell of Bluegrass Roller Service for offering to step into the vacancy in the Vice President's role. You are all probably aware that one of Joel's primary responsibilities will be to put together a program for our 2014 meeting, which is no small task. If any of you have any ideas for topics for the technical presentations or even suggested speakers, please be in touch with Joel; everything that we can do to assist him will be a step toward improving the quality of our next meeting. Finally, I'd like to extend my gratitude to all of you as members of the Rubber Roller Group. Your ongoing support of and participation in the group are what makes the group a beneficial venture for all involved. Thank you. Best Regards, Mike Brown Chairman, Rubber Roller Group Board Rubber Roller Group Associates, First, I would like wish Steve Ottaviano and everyone at Rubber Right Rollers a speedy recovery after a devastating fire at their facility. Due to the fire, Steve has had to step down as Vice President of the Rubber Roller Group and the board has asked me to take Steve’s place. I am grateful for the opportunity and I am look- ing forward to assisting the rest of the Board of Directors in making this coming year’s meeting an exciting and productive one. As always, one of our biggest challenges will be to increase our membership by retaining cur- rent members, adding new companies and individuals. This is not just a job for the board but one that all the members can assist with. As you are all aware, membership in the Rubber Roller Group is a valuable asset to owners, managers and companies in a number of ways: Networking opportunities to increase industry knowledge Resources to add value to your facility Education to improve your management capabilities I would like to challenge everyone to reach out to other acquaintances in the roller industry and enlighten them as to the advantages of the Rubber Roller Group and assist us in adding more members. The fact that the next meeting is being held in Las Vegas should make it an easy sale. The Rubber Roller Group Board of Directors is starting to work on lining up speakers for presentations at the upcoming conference in May 2014. We had a great group of speakers last year and would like to take it to a new level this year. If you or someone you know would like to give a presentation, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or by phone at (502) 647-2100. I look forward to seeing everyone at “The Entertain- ment Capital of the World” Las Vegas come spring, hopefully not “Everything that happens in Vegas” next May will “stay in Vegas” but many new ideas and contacts will continue to be valuable to us through the coming years. ROLL CALL

FROM THE DESK OF THE VICE PRESIDENT

Friends, I hope that all is well with you as 2013 begins to draw to a close. I'd like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to some members of the Rubber Roller Group. First, I'd like to thank Steve Ottaviano for his service to the group as Vice President. Finally, I'd like to extend my gratitude to all of you as members of the Rubber Roller Group. Your ongoing support of and participation in the group are what makes the group a beneficial venture for all involved. Thank you. Best Regards, Mike Brown Chairman, Rubber Roller Group Board

Rubber Roller Group Associates,

First, I would like wish Steve Ottaviano and everyone at Rubber Right Rollers a speedy recovery after a devastating fire at their facility. Due to the fire, Steve has had to step down as Vice President of the Rubber Roller Group and the board has asked me to take Steve’s place. I am grateful for the opportunity and I am look-ing forward to assisting the rest of the Board of Directors in making this coming year’s meeting an exciting and productive one. As always, one of our biggest challenges will be to increase our membership by retaining cur-rent members, adding new companies and individuals. This is not just a job for the board but one that all the members can assist with. As you are all aware, membership in the Rubber Roller Group is a valuable asset to owners, managers and companies in a number of ways:

Networking opportunities to increase industry knowledge

Resources to add value to your facility

Education to improve your management capabilities

I would like to challenge everyone to reach out to other acquaintances in the roller industry and enlighten them as to the advantages of the Rubber Roller Group and assist us in adding more members.

I look forward to seeing everyone at “The Entertain-ment Capital of the World” Las Vegas come spring, hopefully not “Everything that happens in Vegas” next May will “stay in Vegas” but many new ideas and contacts will continue to be valuable to us through the coming years.

Kimberly Kreil is the daughter of Michael and Laura Kreil. Laura has been an

employee at Rotation Dynamics (RotaDyne) for thirty-two years. Kimberly

currently works at RotaDyne as an accounting assistant during her breaks from

school.

Kimberly recently graduated in the top 5% of her class, and earned high honors

from Reavis High School in Burbank, Illinois. At Reavis, in addition to her AP

course of studies, Kim was involved with fine arts, participated in multiple levels

of band all four years, and participated in the drama club’s stage crew. She also

was a member of the Audio/ Visual club, played softball, and remained an active

member of the National Honor Society.

Outside of school, Kimberly has been a Girl Scout for over nine years and just

recently completed her Gold Award (Eagle Scout equivalent), the most prestigious

Girl Scout honor. She recently completed her Take Action project, leading an

Earth Day workshop for grammar school students. Girl Scouts gave her the

opportunity to assist people around the local community and nation, by conducting

workshops and renovating local parks. Her troop traveled to Colorado twice doing

volunteer work at a mule ranch.

In the fall, Kimberly will be attending Illinois State University in Normal, IL,

where she will pursue a degree in financial accounting with aspirations to become

a certified public accountant.

Congratulations to Kimberly Kreil for being the recipient of the 2013-14 LARRY ALMEIDA SCHOLARSHIP sponsored by the Rubber Roller Group! Kimberly was a stand-out candidate and it is a great honor for us as she is not just the daughter of an employee at a roller plant, but she ,too, was an employee!

Best wishes to Kimberly as she pursues her education!
