STK Creation

We suggest to create 5 different media carriers. Map data will be copied from your hard drive to the SD card of vehicle.

Preparing the Service Tool Kit (STK)

Software

➢ The “EU All Software” bundle needs to be copied to a SD card or USB stick (GEN1.x) one time only

➢ Please keep the files on your computer. The tool periodically checks for updates on the server.

Map data

➢ The HERE MapCare Update Tool will copy the data onto the SD card 0r USB. The tool will:

➢ Format the media➢ Copy the files➢ Verify the files

automatically.

System software and map updates are available as a download.

To support the update process, we split into two categories:

System Software

Copy Map Data to Vehicle SD card

After the download is completed, the status will switch to „Current“.Selecting „Copy“ will open a dialog to select the SD card or USB media.

Insert the media into your PC and select the drive you want to copy the files to.Copying is only possible to a USB drive or SD card.

After selecting the drive, the media will be prepared for the copy process and formatted.

When the formatting process is finished, the files will be copied to the media. The status bar will give you a process indication. When both checks are green, the media is ready for the vehicle.

Insert the USB with the upgrade files into the car’s USB port

The system will start performing the upgrade for both the system and the map

The system will automatically recognize the new system and map software and displays current and new software and map information

Press [OK] then [Agree] to proceed

Remove the map SD Card from the SD-Card slotInsert the SD card with the upgrade files into the SD-Card slot

System starts the upgrade processOnce the update is completed, the system automatically rebootsLong press on the [SETTINGS] button.

System automatically detects an upgrade file on the SD Card and displays a window with old and new software information

Click on the [Upgrade] then [Agree] buttons

Check that the new S/W version is displayed Remove SD Card

In some cases “Invalid Map Version“ appearsThis is caused by the removal of Map SD Card and it has no impact on the software update

Remove Map SD card from the slot

System will reboot once the update is complete (< 20 min)

Press [SETTINGS] button once

Go back to [SYSTEM INFO] to check if the new S/W version is displayed

insert unlocked SD Card into SD Card slot

Scroll down to [SYSTEM INFO] and press the icon

After completing of SW updating,ACC OFF will trigger further progress.

‘Quick update’ will limit functions during the update process. However, it will reduce the time
