Add RTWP-Based Load Balancing Algorithm Parameters(ADD UCELLULB)

    Function

Use this command to add parameters related to the Received Total Wideband Power (RTWP)-based load balancing algorithm.

    None

    Parameters

Parameter ID Parameter Name Parameter Description

CellId Cell ID Meaning: The logical cell ID uniquely identifies a cell in a radio network.

The logical cell ID is configured at the BSC6900. The BSC6900 sends the cell ID to the base station during a cell setup procedure. The mapping between logical cell IDs and local cell IDs are configuredat the BSC6900.

The BSC6900 supports a maximum of 5100 logical cells. Logical cells are uniquely but not necessarily consecutively numbered within a BSC6900. For example, you can set the ID of a logical cell to 0

and that of another logical cell to 2.For clear and easy identification, adhere to the following numbering principles:

Specify different number ranges for logical cells in different subracks. For example, you can specify the range of 0 to 899 for the logical cells in subrack 0 (MPS) and the range of 900 to 1799 for thelogical cells in subrack 1 (EPS).For detailed information about this parameter, see 3GPP TS 25.401.

    GUI Value Range: 0~65535

    Unit: None

    Actual Value Range: 0~65535

    MML Default Value: None

    Recommended Value: None

    Parameter Relationship: None

    Service Interrupted After Modification: N/A

    Impact on Network Performance: None

    RTWPHeavyThd RTWP HeavyThreshold

Meaning: RTWP heavy threshold for the load balancing algorithm based on Received Total Wideband Power (RTWP). If power in a cell exceeds the threshold, CPICH power in the cell will be decreased.

    GUI Value Range: 0~100

    Unit: %

    Actual Value Range: 0~1

    MML Default Value: 95

    Recommended Value: 95

Parameter Relationship: RTWP Heavy Threshold must be greater than RTWP Light Threshold.

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Network Performance: If the parameter is set to a smaller value, CPICH power is more likely to be decreased. As a result, coverage shrinks and coverage blind zone occurs, increasing thecall drop rate. If the parameter is set to a greater value, CPICH power is less likely to be decreased. As a result, CPICH power adjustment takes lengthy time and the call drop rate cannot be reduced intime.

    RTWPLightThd RTWP LightThreshold

Meaning: RTWP light threshold for the load balancing algorithm based on RTWP. If power in a cell is less than the threshold, CPICH power in the cell will be increased.

    GUI Value Range: 0~100

    Unit: %

    Actual Value Range: 0~1

    MML Default Value: 85

    Recommended Value: 85

Parameter Relationship: RTWP Heavy Threshold must be greater than RTWP Light Threshold.

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Network Performance: If the parameter is set to a greater value, CPICH power is more likely to be increased. As a result, CPICH power is more likely to be increased and decreased in theway that ping-pong is played back and forth. If the parameter is set to a smaller value, CPICH power is less likely to be increased. As a result, coverage blind zone easily occurs, increasing the call droprate.

    PCPICHPowerPace CPICH PowerAdjustment Pace

Meaning: Pace at which CPICH power is increased or decreased each time

    GUI Value Range: 0~100

    Unit: 0.1dB

    Actual Value Range: 0~10

    MML Default Value: 2

    Recommended Value: 2

    Parameter Relationship: None

Service Interrupted After Modification: No (And no impact on the UE in idle mode)

Impact on Network Performance: If the parameter is set to a smaller value, CPICH power is adjusted at a slower pace. As a result, RTWP change and uplink interference counteraction take longer time.If the parameter is set to a greater value, CPICH power is adjusted at a faster pace. As a result, RTWP change and uplink interference counteraction take shorter time. Cell coverage, however, willchange rapidly, increasing the call drop rate.

    Example

To add parameters related to the RTWP-based load balancing algorithm to a cell (Cell ID = 1; RTWP Heavy Threshold = 80; RTWP Light Threshold = 30; CPICH Power Adjustment Pace = 3),

    run the following command: ADD UCELLULB: CellId=1, RTWPHeavyThd=80, RTWPLightThd=30, PCPICHPOWERPACE=3;
