RTÉ Opening Up Our Archives

Opening up RTÉ Archives is a commitment that presents challenges.

Preservation for ‘born digital’ material will require the development of a system that will allow the capture of all content to a digital archive.

Digital preservation for legacy archive poses a major financial challenge. At the moment most likely to happen on a demand led or project basis where funding is available.

Rights clearance and management will be required to help make material accessible.
