RSS Technology:RSS is a technology that allows users to link not just a page, but subscribe it to receive notification every time the page is updated.
Key features: Cooperate – no single control point:
RSS enabled Web 2.0 application offers web service interfaces to reuse the data service of other users, giving no control to any single entity.
Value addition – users responsibility: Involves users both implicitly and explicitly in adding value.
Data Source - unique and hard to recreate: The applications are data-driven and gives a competitive advantage by generating a
unique data source. Innovation – driven from inside:
New features are added as part of normal user experiences. Users act as real-time testers. Multiple Devices – unlimited accessibility:

WHAT?
RSS for HHC:
Overview of the process:
Use of Web 2.0 to harness collective intelligence of patients.
Create a blog for each type of medicine, used by patients.
Once logged in, patients comment on their anecdotal experiences with that medicine in regards to side effects, a better alternative, etc.
Patients can “subscribe” to that particular medicine’s blog through an RSS feed. - anytime the blog is “updated” each subscriber would receive a “notification” (an email update or push notifications on a smart phone)
The application could be broadened to include blogs on medical procedures, ailments, insurance policies, as well as patient opinions about HHC doctors.
