Local context plays a large role in the site development of libraries and museums and RSLA looks for cues in the sur-rounding region and within the museum subjects or library users. Our goal is the successful marriage of the building and site to provide both a functionally and aesthetically pleasing solution. As with all of our projects, we strive to develop sustainable concepts from the outset including low-impact development (LID), permeable pavements, best management practices (BMP) for stormwater mitigation, use of native and xeriscape plants, user-friendly public courtyards and learning gardens, green roof design and solar lighting.
