Our highly qualified specialist teams are committed tosupporting you with Infrastructure Inspections, Testing, Design,Assessments and Repair, providing your engineers with anaccurate and meaningful data analysis.

Structures are a vital part of tomorrow’s transport

infrastructure. Future proofing the resilience of the

assets’ life is critical in increasingly hostile

environmental conditions, examples of assets include:

Bridge Stock, Retaining Walls, Earthwork

Embankments and Cuttings, Masts, Towers,

Buildings, Tunnels, Gantries,

Footbridges, Foundations, Multi-Storeys.

We drive efficiencies and save time and generate

financial damage limitation and preventative

maintenance reporting. Each structure is appraised

upon the specific criterion of safe access, fulfilling the

specification and timely delivery of site works and

reporting.

In these challenging site environments, you need

teams you can trust as your ‘Solution Providers’; a

future proof approach to fulfil the exacting

specifications of our partnering clients.

Our dedicated teams are committed to ‘Safe

Practices’. These are enhanced through the use of

innovative new technologies, such as unmanned

remotely operated vehicles, especially where the

location of inspection is too dangerous for man

access.

We are supply chain partners to local authorities and

blue chip companies, operating nationwide.

Inspections and Surveys

The first step in achieving an effective asset analysis, is to ascertain a meaningful

diagnosis of the asset condition.

Through our extensive experience in carrying out

comprehensive inspections and methodical testing

regimes, we ensure that our clients are provided with

an accurate and meaningful assessment of the asset

condition with which to develop stock management

strategies.

From routine General and Principal Inspections

through to Special Inspections and Surveys, we

evaluate each individual structure and select the

safest methodology throughout testing. The most

suitable test is chosen from our non-destructive

testing portfolio to ensure accurate and correct data is

retrieved from site for assessment and any further

analysis and design.

Special Inspections

Post-tensioned structures can show little or no signs of distress despite holding

severe defects. As a result, inspection methods need to be more vigorous.

As post-tensioned cables are buried within the concrete, intrusive methods of inspection are necessary. If not

reinstated properly these locations can be a source of further deterioration. Destructive methods could also

further weaken an already highly stressed structure.

Non-Destructive Testing

The first step to a successful repair is a correct and meaningful diagnosis. This is

reached by a comprehensive investigation and methodical testing regime.

Knowledge of defects and the application of relevant tests is essential. Our method operates in accordance

with approved testing standards and technical procedures ensuring consistent and accurate recording and

testing.

A comprehensive photographic report can include recommendations for repair or further specialised testing.

Full structural assessments consist of capacity assessment, strengthening and design stages.

Capacity AssessmentOur qualified Structural, Civil and Geotechnical

Engineers have extensive experience in the

assessment of infrastructure assets. Working to

current Eurocodes and British design codes relevant

to each industry sector, our engineers will calculate

the load carrying capacity of the structure taking into

account the current condition and results of any

material testing. Where the capacity falls short of that

required by the client, our team can develop options

for managing sub-standard structures.

Strengthening, Refurbishment and RehabilitationWhere a deficiency is identified in a structure through

inspection, testing or capacity assessment, we are

able to design, manage and implement strengthening,

refurbishment and rehabilitation works. Our engineers

have carried out structural rehabilitation design for

numerous structures throughout industry and have

extensive experience in designing and supervising

complex strengthening projects on some of the

busiest infrastructures in the UK. Where we have

carried out inspection and capacity assessment on a

structure, we will ensure to use the same team to

coordinate the design, management and supervision

of any strengthening, refurbishment and rehabilitation

projects on the structure.

DesignOur teams are experienced in all aspects of analysis,

design and detailing of structures, and our offices are

equipped with the latest analysis, design and detailing

software to enable our Chartered professional

engineers to prepare safe, durable, economic and

buildable structural designs.
