Workshop and Seminar on Digital India

To make the learners of RR Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala aware of our

Prime Minister’s concept of Digital India the NSS department of the institution

organized workshop and seminar from on 09-01-2017 to 12-01-2017 on this

subject with particular reference to how one can make payments digitally by

employing various apps and devices. This workshop was held under the

direction and supervision of Prof. Harish Sharma Head, PG Dept. of Computer

Science and IT and Programme Officer NSS with the special assistance of Prof.

Vinay Kumar – a member of the college computer department.

The Principal of the college Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Neeru Chadha appreciated

the move. The workshop was attended by almost all the teachers of the

computer department.

Celebration of National Voters Day

Under the direction of the Election Commission of India, the Returning Officer of Batala

S. Prithi Singh organised an awareness campaign at RR Bawa DAV College for Girls,

Batala for voters of the city and the students of the college to make use of their right to

franchise in the election to be held on 4th February, 2017. The programme was held

under the supervision of Prof. Harish Kumar Sharma, Head PG Dept. of Computer

Science & IT and the NSS Program Officer, Prof. Vinay Kumar. To evolve a larger

impact on the audience and the students, a Nukkad Natak was also performed with the

motive that voters should vote without threat and greed.

Traffic Rules Seminar

Under the aegis of Principal Prof.Dr.(Mrs.) Neeru Chadha and NSS Program Officer Prof.

Vinay Kumar organises a comprehensive and thought provoking seminar on the topic

‘Traffic Rules Awareness’. S.Manjinder Singh told the gathering about traffic rules. He said

everyone must follow traffic rules in true sense so that we can minimise the alarming number

of road accidents. Most of these accidents are a direct outcome of the civic negligence rather

than lack of awareness.
