Camping trip requirements: August 14th to 16th,18th to 20th, 23rd to 25th, Final Assessment must be past prior to camping trip.

Class Survey
How many of you have been camping? Out those how many of been camping with minimum items? (i.e. RV, Camper trailer, toilets)
How may of you have backpacks that design for camping? Now just a backpack?
S.U.R.V.IV.A.L.
S-size up the the situation.
U-use all your senses, undue haste makes waste.
R-Remember where you are.
V-vanquish fear and panic.
I-improvise.
V-value living.
A-act like the natives.
L-live by your wits, learn basic skills.
What you need?
Water
Person can survive up to 2 days with out water.
Sources of water: Streams Lakes Rain Snow Ice Urine
Signs of Dehydration
Dark urine with a very strong odor.
Low urine output.
Dark, sunken eyes.
Fatigue.
Emotional instability.
Loss of skin elasticity.
Delayed capillary refill in fingernail beds.
Trench line down center of tongue.
Thirst. Last on the list because you are already 2 percent dehydrated by the time you crave fluids.
Food
A person on average can survive without food from couple days to a week.
