Installation of Tubing Head Spool Note: Normally P-Seals are already assembled.
1. Clean neck of the hanger or casing stub of previous stage. 2. Thoroughly clean ring grooves in mating flanges and check P-Seal in
bottom of spool. 3. Install ring gasket and, ensure correct outlet direction, lower spool over
casing hanger neck. Make up connection in the right way. 4. Tighten the nuts in the sequence as shown in procedure DS-0003 and to
the torque requirements of procedure DS-0004. 5. Install outlet equipments. 6. Nipple up B.O.P. stack on to the top of flange.

P-Seal Testing
1. Remove the 1" NPT plug from the injection port and install the plastic injection gun. Remove the 1/2" test bleed plug from the vent port.
2. Remove the 1/2" test bleed plug from test port in between the P-seals and install test pump with needle valve and pressure gauge.
3. Inject sufficient packing through the plastic injection port and get an initial seal. Apply pressure through the test port and determine the holding pressure. Continue injecting plastic until the desired pressure is held without leakage.
4. The maximum test pressure will be 80% of the collapse resistance of casing. Apply pressure in steps of 100psi increments.
5. After the test, release the pressure and remove test apparatus. 6. Install relief tool on test port and release pressure and install plug. 7. Remove injection gun. Ensure there are no plastic left inside the port hole
and plug 1" NPT plug.

Flange Testing
1. Find the test port and remove the fitting. 2. Install the test pump and inject fluid to maximum rated working pressure of
the connection or 80% of the casing collapse resistance. 3. Bleed the test pressure and remove test apparatus. 4. When the test is passed, remove the test pump, drain the fluid and replace
the fitting.

Running B.O.P. Test Plug
1. Ensure that all hold down screws and alignment pin are fully retracted and are not projecting in to the bowl.
2. Nipple up the Spacer spool/BOP stack and prepare for testing. 3. The tubing head spool side outlet valve shall be opened before pressure
testing. 4. Ensure that the combination tool is clean and seals are not damaged. 5. Lubricate the elastomer seals of the combination tool. 6. Thread the combination tool on to the drill pipe. 7. Run the drill pipe into hole. 8. Lower down combination tools until its land on 45 o load shoulder in the
casing spool. 9. This will seal off the well bore. 10. Close the BOP and test it as per rig procedures. 11. Once the test has been successfully completed retrieve the test plug by
lifting straight up.

Running Bowl Protector
1. Ensure that the tubing head spool bowl is clean and clear of obstructions. 2. Thread the combination tool on to the drill pipe. 3. Apply grease on the OD of the bowl protector. 4. Unscrew the hold down screws and the alignment pin so that they will not
obstruct the entry of bowl protector. 5. Insert the combination tool in to the bowl protector and rotate the
combination tool clockwise until the projecting pins on the tool engage the J slots.
6. Lower the bowl protector in to the casing head bowl and lands it on to the load shoulder of the tubing head spool.
7. Disengage the pins on the combination tool from the bowl protector J slots by rotating the tool counter clockwise slightly and pull the tool out.
8. Run lockdown screws in until they are butted up against the bowl protector in the devoted groove.
Note: Ensure elastomers are properly installed & wipe elastomer with light oil or
grease.

Retrieving Bowl Protector
1. Unscrew the lockdown screws till they are fully retracted. 2. Thread the combination tool on to the drill pipe. 3. Lower the drill pipe/combination tool assembly in to the tubing head and
set down on the bowl protector. 4. Rotate the drill pipe/combination tool clockwise and until you feel a slight
drop, again turn your drill pipe half a turn lift slightly to engage the pins on the tool in the J slots of the bowl protector.
5. Retrieve the bowl protector, remove it and running tool from the drill string.

Installation of Tubing Hanger
1. Ensure that hold-down screws are fully retracted and not projecting inside the tubing head spool and the alignment pin (if applicable) is projecting in the tubing head spool bowl.
2. Open the outlet of the tubing head spool and drain the fluid and flush the hanger preparation in the spool with clean water.
3. Lubricate the threads of the hanger and the matting threads. 4. Install the tubing hanger on the last tubing joint. 5. Lower the tubing hanger in to the tubing head spool and rotate it till the
alignment pin goes into its groove in the hanger and lands on the load shoulder of the spool.
6. Install back pressure valve. 7. Screw in the hold down screws and energize the hanger packing. 8. Test tubing hanger as per rig procedures.

Installation of X-Mas Tree Assy. 1. Clean the ring groove on the bottom face of the tubing head adaptor and top
face of the tubing head spool thoroughly. 2. Place ring gasket in the groove. 3. Assemble studs & nuts in the tubing head adaptor. 4. Align the level of Christmas tree and lower it over the tubing spool. 5. Align the bolt holes of the tubing head adaptor with the bolt holes of the tubing
head spool. 6. Tighten the nuts in the sequence as shown in procedure DS-0003 and to the
torque requirements of procedure DS-0004. 7. The flange connection is to be tested as per rig procedures.

Delta (Doha) Corporation DS0004 Engineering Department Specification Recommended tightening torque for Flange Bolting Scope: This specification states the recommended torque values and procedure of tightening for flange and other bolted connections.
1. Tighten all nuts snugly, in any sequence just enough to remove all slack. Watch the gap between the bonnet and body to keep it uniform.
2. Tighten in small increments in the sequence shown in specification DS0003,
until you reach 85% to 95% of the full torque.
3. Apply finish torque as per the following table moving clockwise from one nut to the next.
