It focuses on countering Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (C-CBRN) hazards in the environment. Royal Engineers Commandos work alongside the Royal Marines and operate in a variety of hosle environments. All Commando Sappers have passed the tough Commando Course and wear the coveted green beret. Specialist Roles Soldier- Combat Engineer-Tradesman The Corps of Royal Engineers has a role in every area of the balefield. At the front we support the rest of the Army, bridging rivers, clearing routes through minefields or using explosives to gain entry into buildings and destroy bridges. Behind the front line we improve transport routes, construct camps, build runways and carry out explosive disposal. We also use our specialist skills to help rebuild aſter the conflict. We provide humanitarian support in the form of water producon, electrical supply, infrastructure and support to medical facilies, which provide essenal healthcare to local people.
