Venues and businesses up and down-
the Dee Valley are proudly showcasing
a cornucopia of taste and talent.
There will be traditional music sessions
featuring loads of local and visiting
musicians - you may even bump into
Paul Anderson or AlasdairJohnson!
Restaurants, hotels and cafes are host-
ing musicians to accompany fine fare -
with venison and blaeberries, whisky
and atholl brose on the menu, you may
be spoiled and there will certainly be
choice aplenty.
George Strachan's emporium in
Aboyne will serve as a hub for the Fort-
night, showcasing local producers and
their wares, highlighting excellence
and dispensing information. There's a
ceilidh in a village hall, a walk amongst
bothies, some outdoor tunes and some
indoor feasts. There's even some food
for thought and a bagpipe alarm clock!

In 1905, Glen Tanar was bought by George Coats, later Lord
Glentanar. The present owners, Michael and Claire Bruce, are the
fourth generation of the family to own and care for Glen Tanar.
We aim to make you feel at home, whether you stay in one of ourluxury self-catering holiday cottages, enjoy one of the many
outdoor activities on the estate; fishing, walking, cycling, Land
Rover Safaris or photography opportunities.
Brooks brought many changes to "The Glen": he built houses and
bridges, the Tower of Ess, the Victorian Ballroom and the
landscaped gardens - all of which can be seen and enjoyed today.
Glen Tanar was formed in the nineteenth century, when part of
the lands of the Marquis of Huntly was leased, and then bought,
by the Manchester merchant banker and MP, Sir William Cunliffe

Braemar Castle also presents two evenings of gin tasting in our
beautiful Dining Room. Scottish distilleries have recently been
producing fantastic cra! gins and we have teamed up with
flavours of Scottish gin. By the end you will surely have a new
favourite! Music will be provided by local Deeside folk musicians.

Dining Room is perfect for enjoying the flavours and smells of
Deeside Drinks Emporium to showcase these in our 400 year old
castle. Learn about the botanicals that create the unique, delicate
Braemar Castle in partnership with Deeside Drinks Emporium
presents two exclusive evenings of whisky tasting in the grand
Victorian Dining Room. Formerly the Castle's Great Hall, the
Scottish malt whisky, sampling whiskies from Aberdeenshire
