ABOUT LAST NIGHT... The Round Rock Express extended their winning streak to three straight games with a 5-3 victory over the Oklahoma City Dodgers on Thursday night at Dell Diamond. After three scoreless frames, the teams exchanged three-run innings to open scoring. To kick things off in the bottom of the fourth, E-Train DH Drew Ferguson notched a single prior to a pair of base hits by SS Jack Mayfield and RF Kyle Tucker, plating Ferguson in the process. The next at-bat, 3B Taylor Jones grounded into a double play that also erased Tucker at second. With Mayfield waiting on base, Tanielu blasted a two-run shot to extend the lead to 3-0. However, Oklahoma City answered with a three-run inning of their own to level the score in the top of the fifth. RF Jon Kemmer singled before racing home on a triple off the bat of SS Zach McKinstry. 3B Drew Jackson then kept the ball rolling with an RBI double before later scoring the game-tying run when 2B Gavin Lux singled. Round Rock battled back for the eventual game-winning runs in the fifth. De Goti reached base on a Jackson throwing error before trotting home when LF Myles Straw tripled. Shortly thereafter, Ferguson sent a sacrifice fly into left field, allowing Straw to tack on an insurance run. The E-Train bullpen combined for 3.1 scoreless frames to preserve the 5-3 win. EXPRESS MANAGER MICKEY STOREYMickey Storey joins the Express from the Class-A Quad Cities River Bandits, where he began his managerial career in 2018. The 32-year-old skipper led the River Bandits to an 81-59 record in 2018, the second-best mark in the Midwest League and the club’s highest win total since 2015. Prior to his time in Quad Cities, Storey served as the Development Coach at Class-A Advanced Buies Creek in 2017. The former right-handed pitcher had a nine-year professional playing career that included one season with the Astros in 2012 in which he posted a 3.86 ERA in 26 appearances with the Major League club.

Storey was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he attended nearby Deerfield Beach High School before moving on to Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. He was drafted twice in his career, first by the Minnesota Twins in the 22nd round of the 2007 MLB Draft and again by the Oakland Athletics in the 31st round of the 2008 MLB Draft. During his nine-year professional career, Storey pitched at every level of affiliated baseball, including stints with Sacramento and Oklahoma City in the Pacific Coast League. He also posted winter ball stints in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Venezuela. He finished his playing career in 2016 following two seasons with the Somerset Patriots of the independent Atlantic League. In total, the righty amassed a career 3.52 ERA in 385 games.
