USB flash drives are also known as "pen drives", "flash drives", "USB drives", "USB sticks" and a wide

variety of other names. They are also sometimes incorrectly called memory

sticks, which is a Sony trademark describing their type of memory card.

A USB flash drive is essentially NAND-type flash memory integrated with a USB

1.1 or 2.0 interface used as a small, lightweight, removable data storage

device currently available in sizes: 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB & 8GB
