The XL series rotary limit switch enclosure provides a rugged heavyduty package for visual and remote electrical indication of valve posi-tion. The die cast aluminum housing has a dichromate undercoat andelectrostatic powder top coat for superior corrosion resistance. Thehousing is suitable for NEMA 4, 4X, 7 & 9 locations and is availablewith optional position transmitters and a wide range of limit switchoptions.

The PL series offers many features similar to the XL series. The PLseries housing is a non-metallic engineered resin and provides anexcellent enclosure for harsh corrosive environments. Designed tomeet NEMA 4X standards, the housing also features a uniquelabyrinth cover seal.

Optional cams are available for:• Squared or square root characterization.• 30, 45, 60 or 120 degree rotation.• Linear stroking valves.

Custom cams are also available to meetspecific application needs.

Optional Flow Spool ValvesInterchangeable Low Flow, High Flow andMaximum Flow spool valves are availableto match the Automax positioners to the ac-tuator load. The selection of the appropriatespool valve is determined primarily by therequired speed of response of the total pack-age (i.e. Positioner, actuator and final ele-ment). The exact speed of response dependson the torque available from the actuator rela-tive to the torque required by the load; thesupply pressure; actuator spring force; etc.The low flow spool features slow-openingports which reduce overshoot while decreas-ing sensitivity. High and Max flow spoolsfeature quick-opening ports which maximizesensitivity but may cause overshoot in lowtorque applications (such as dampers).
