• Facebook is a global social networking website

• Users can add friends and send them messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves.

• Additionally, users can join networks organized by city, workplace, school, and region.

• Sharing information with friends/networks– Articles from other websites– Video (even television shows)– Photos (family, events, products)– Comment on other content

• Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets.

• Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author's profile page and delivered to the author's subscribers who are known as followers.

• Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow open access.

• Users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website, Short Message Service (SMS) or external applications.

• Rotary international is reaching out to its members and the public through many different social media streams, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

• Our club is one of the few clubs in the world which provides its members live video of its meetings.

• Our newsletter is published online in a very interactive and visually familiar format.

• We are connected through Facebook and Twitter with other Rotary clubs across the country

We all have the power of social networking available us and in my opinion, we are on the verge of creating the most intelligent and creative society in the history of the world, where the have’s and the have not’s is not a function of wealth, but rather a function of connectivity.
