All pump models are manufacturedusing single piece construction. That won't be copied easily. The AL, PL, CL, FL, EL and XL seriesallow for a rated capacity between 5–5,000 usgpm. Whatever pump sizeis right for you depends on its intendedpurpose, installation location and thecharacteristics of the pumped fluid.Whatever you need, we'll give youthorough technical advice.

When we select a rotary lobe pumpmodel for you, we consider the largevariety of different pump sizes andmaterials available, including thebest suited shaft seal and drive selection, so that your customizedpump is built for its intended use. The pump casing is constructedusing grey cast iron as standard. It isgiven either an abrasive-resistantcoating or is finished entirely instainless or duplex steel for corrosive applications.

All elastomers can be supplied in analmost unlimited material range withvarious characteristics. Our performance driven, reliable androbust pumps benefit not only fromthe Maintenance in Place Feature(MIP) but also from high efficienciesresulting in low energy consumption,reducing the life cycle costs to a minimum.

Different rotary lobe types with

various materials of constructionsuch as elastomer, plastic or metalare used depending on the fluid characteristics. Viscous, abrasive andaggressive pumped media can behandled easily with the variable andmodular rotor design capabilities.

Thanks to the special, patented construction, the robust rotor coreand durable shaft remain non-wetted.We consider all factors when determining the selection of the bestsuited rotor for each individual application, therefore meeting thespecial demands of our customers.

In case of changing operating conditions, different rotor designscan be fitted into an existing pumpunit because of our modular pumpdesign.

Construction, Driveand Assembly

The low number and compact natureof the individual components willastonish anyone that has disassembleda Börger rotary lobe pump. The different sizes of the casings and rotors are manufactured in a singlepiece construction, quite different fromthe high number of components normal ly found in com parable pumps.

The result of course are robust and compact rotary lobe pumps, whichare known for quiet, safe and reliable operation, long operational life andfor ease of maintenance. The re placement of wear parts can be managed, in-situ, by service personnelin the blink of an eye without the removal of pipe systems or driveunits. Simplicity is one of Börger'strademarks.

Börger rotary lobe pumps are uni- versally mountable and are suited formany different types of installation. For example, electric, combustionand hydraulic drives are used. Complete mobile aggregates can bemanufactured to customer specifi- cation and are finished in our ownworkshop.

Pump casing Made from high-quality grey cast iron, ductile iron, stainlesssteel or in duplex quality. Thanks to the MIP construction analmost limitless operational lifetime is achieved.

Quench The quench and control liquid filled intermediate chamber,between the pump casing and the timing gear, provides ahigh degree of safety and is supplied by Börger as standard.

Quick-release cover This is the entrance door to the interior of the pump andprovides the quickest possible access to all parts in contactwith the pumped medium.

Rotary Lobe Pumps Self-priming, valveless positive displacement pumpsguarantee almost pulsation-free and smooth flow patterns;reversible flow by switching the flow direction.

Rotor materials Coatings to suit intended usage made from elastomers,plastic, all-metal including stainless steel.

Rotors The patented rotors with quickly exchangeable rotor tips,elastomer coated or readjustable; screw profile design foralmost pulsation-free pumping.

Shaft seal Supplied as standard with strong mechanical seal indifferent constructions and materials, optional with multi-seal or packing. The Börger Protect pump with double-acting mechanical seal is especially designed for pumpingdifficult and hazardous, often viscous media.

Smooth running Large bucket geometry and short passage through thepump provide a smooth transfer of the pumped fluid.

Reversible flow direction

Rotary lobe pumps are self-priming,valveless positive displacementpumps. The screw rotor guaranteesalmost pulsation-free, smooth running.Reversible flow is achieved by simplyswitching the rotation direction. Rotarylobe pumps are therefore suitable forboth loading and unloading applications.
