What is this “Friendship Exchange” all about?

• International exchange program for Rotarians and Rotary couples

• District to District Exchange – Teams travel both directions

• Make genuine Rotary friends and experience another culture – Stay in the homes of your hosting Rotarians– Visit their clubs and tour their projects– Experience the local culture from the

“insiders” perspective

Goals of the Exchange

• To advance international understanding and peace through visits across borders

• To promote interclub relationships, fellowships and service projects.

The Rotarians participating gain the opportunity to make long lasting friendships while exploring

different areas of the world.

Highlights

• Castles and Cathedrals Galore (including Dracula’s Castle)

• Visited a youth detention facility where the Timisoara club runs an art therapy program

• Walking tour of Sibiu, the European Capital of Culture 2007

• Tour of Brasov and the Black Church• Two different wine tastings• Visited the ruins of a Roman city more than 1000

year old• Visited Lake St. Anna (a collapsed volcano)• Sulphuric Cave (a health tonic!)
