* Note---2nd October –Friday was National holiday, so no weekly meeting took place, though members participated in cycle rally, 16th October meeting was called in response to RC Femina’s request of supporting their Dandiya Raas event. Members attended the event and attendance given to all.

Save Fuel Save EnvironmentCycle Rally by All Rotary Clubs of Jamshedpur
D.G Elect Rtn Dr Bharat Flagged of the Rally of approximate 500 members which included Rotarians from all clubs, Rotary spouses, Rotary lets, Exchange student, Intetactors & Rotaractors & Moderators.
The rally started from Loyola Ground & ended at Gopal Maidan—covering an area of 1 kilometer—at the heart of the city to make the impact most effective. Cyclists and Rotarians / spouses on foot were holding the placards depicting various slogan promoting awareness on Save Environment.
All safety & medical precautions were taken keeping in mind the health & safety of people took part in rally. It was well covered by media
The rally ended with serving of healthy snacks to everyone present there

Rotarians & spouses visited Gurukul &
took internal examinations on
English & Mathematics to have the understanding of their progress, They also took classes on English. Snacks were distributed amongst
children & food grains were given for
monthly use.
Adult literacy classReward & Recognition
Three ladies were rewarded with prizes for their wonderful learning effort and 100% attendance in Adult literacy class. It was an effort to encourage ladies to attend the class regularly and take their classes on serious note.
Village project-HarisundarpurRenovation of rooms for vocational Training
Rtn Vineet Sinha (renowned architect of the town) visited Harisundarpur and inspected the two rooms which DEO has agreed upon to allow Rotary West to conduct need based vocational training for the empowerment of the youth community of the village. He will give estimate and after approval from the Board civil work will start.
Vocational ServiceMehendi class at Deeksha
O New initiative--
Weekly mehendi class is in progress at Deeksha centre. Around 10 girls are learning the art from a teacher on weekly basis. This batch will continue for 3 months
This is an effort to make women empowered even if their academic or financial condition is not high.

Installation ceremony of new batch of Rotaractors was done at the Jain college premises in Gamharia. Due to ongoing new admission and relocation of campus from old site, there was delay in Installation ceremony.President Rtn Rajender, First lady Rtn Sujata, New Generation Director Rtn Aklavya and others were present on the occasion.

Date—15.10.15On Global Handwashing Day, Interactors of Narbheram Hansraj English School, demonstrated hand washing
techniques to students of std 2,3,& 4 in practical way as well as through Digital demonstration & Posters. More
than 100 children were benefitted through this programme.

visited Nirmal Hriday old age home
They sang and played music to make around 90 inmates happy and spent
time with them.

Date—16.10.15Interactors of Kasidih High School visited Aashirwaad Old Age Home &
Shishu Bhawan run by Missionaries of Charity. They distributed eatables & cleaning items amongst 15 inmates of Aashirwad old age home & around 40
tiny tots of Shishu Bhawan…home for Children of Gods. .

amongst students of std 1-4 of Central
Karimia High school, Sakchi. They
displayed right ways of washing hands & importance of doing
so. Around 65 members were

Date----30.10.15 & 31.10,15Rotaractors of Karim City College & Jain College did a need based survey at adopted village, Harisundarpur, so that Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West can plan next course of action in that area like introduction of new vocational courses according to the demand of the villagers.

Topic—creative ways of providing ServicesSpeaker—Rtn Vineet Sinha & Sanjay Kedia
Rtn Sanjay Kedia shared a video of Prof Bunker on the topic of Barefoot University, and the work he initiated at a small village Tilonia—in Rajasthan and how the idea and philosophy was spread across the Globe. It was worth watching and everyone was in praise of that.
Rtn Vineet Sinha engaged members in an interactive discussion on the
topic of creative ways of providing Services. Many members citied their
own examples of providing services to the community in their own way,

Participation in Dandiya RaasHost Club—R.C Femina
In response to RC Femina’s invitation to their Dandiya
Raas function, members were requested to attend the event and help the new Club in their
endeavour. Members won many prizes in the finction.

Topic—Importance & Opportunities of Technical skill development
Speakers—Mr. R.K.Srivastava & Mr. S.N. Thakur from Quivan Daksha centre for Technical Skill Development
Mr Thakur & Mr Srivasata discussed the topic through power point presentation, the facilities available at Quivan Daksha Skill Development centre, curriculum standard, minimum required level of education of the learners,
course fees etc. Brochures were distributed amongst everyone present in the meeting for details & future reference.
Presidents & secretaries of other Rotary Clubs were also invited to attend the meeting as this was the topic of common interest.

Topic--Project Global CitizensSpeaker—Rotarylet Ms Mugdhha Banerjee
Rotarylet Ms Mughddha Banerjee shared her experience of
spending six weeks in Italy where she went as an ambassador of
Educhange—exchange of culture & introducing children to English.She shared with members the love
& warmth she received from residents of the place where she
stayed with a family, how children were keen to learn English and
how communication can be made without knowing each other’s
language.
