Limit contactsVariable area flow meters from George Fischer areequipped with two dovetail shafts. For external electri-cal monitoring, these can be used for fitting magneticallyactuated limit contacts.

Function of the limit contact (GK)

The limit contact serves to monitor ex-ternally the limited flow values and canbe adjusted to any flow value on thecorresponding scale. The magnet builtinto the float closes or opens a reedcontact in the limit contact. This is abistable switching function because theswitching status remains when the floatis taken from the contact.

Note:When subsequently mountinglimit contacts, mind that you have to re-place the standard float with a magnet-ic float.

The limit contacts GK10/ GK11 are onlysuitable for the VAFM type 335/ 350 aswell as the short version of the existingrange. The same contact type can notbe used for monitoring both the min.and max. levels. (GK 10min / GK11max)

Assembly instructions1.Replace the float with a magnetic float.2.Position the limit contact on the dovetail shaft of the

VAFM.3.Tighten fastening screw.

Mode of operation of contactsPosition of float in relation to limit contacts:

The contacts remain in these positions, even if the floatleaves the contact concerned. When the float movesback to the desired position, the corresponding contactis deactivated.
