To all the families who volunteer for our lawn mowing and garden roster. Your time is honestly appreciated. News Note Dear Families, if you are planning to send your child to school in 2021 it is a good idea to organise a time before the end of the term and call into your school of choice for an enrolment package. Important Information School Zoning The School Zoning policy changed in Term 4 2019 with new zones established for the Mooki network. It now means that even if there are siblings enrolled at the school, if the school is over their enrolment buffer then the school may not be able to enrol other children from within the family. If you think this may affect your child’s enrolment, please take the time to ring or visit the school to ask for the correct information. There is a non- local enrolment application which needs to be signed off by the director and then also approved by the school's enrolment panel. Please be aware that the final decision has nothing to do with the school. Some schools are already over their enrolment buffer and it makes it hard for schools, even though they would love to have your children it may not be possible. To families who live out of zoning of the school of your choice, and this is your first child transitioning into school please make the time to enquire. You may also need to complete an enrolment application. It is important for your child please take the time to investigate your options. A huge thank you to Layla’s dad for your help with our flowers. It was sincerely appreciated. They look great. Thank you.

Important Information School Zoning

The School Zoning policy changed in Term 4 2019 with new zones established for the Mooki network. It now means that even if there are siblings enrolled at the school, if the school is over their enrolment buffer then the school may not be able to enrol other children from within the family. If you think this may affect your child’s enrolment, please take the time to ring or visit the school to ask for the correct information.

Incorporating following directions, helping others to solve the problem-solving questions incorporated into active games. For example: 1. All boys in yellow hoops?

2. Six boys in blue hoops and five girls

in red hoops?

3. A boy and a girl in blue hoops?

4. Three people in one hoop and if

one hoop has two children these

two children must ask a teacher to

join them to make three?

5. Boys sit down in hoop and girls

Look what we discovered in the leaves? We investigated and we think they are praying mantis eggs and we also think we found the green praying Mantis egg sack which looks a bit like spray foam gone hard.

Dear Families, the mornings have been chilly, but the days have been beautiful, and warm enough we need to wear our hats. Please remember to pack a hat and if you have a preschool hat at home could you please return, sorry but we are running out of spare hats. If you have hats you longer need, we would appreciate some donations. Many thanks Alison

With a little bit of help from Shaz, Sebastian and Paddy have created a Guessing

Puzzle. Sebastian, Paddy and Shaz are the only ones who know the answer? Now it is

our turn.

How many does this sum equal?

Spinning apples plus

white rocks plus

small pebbles all together equals?

Please send your answers in

we would love you to take the time to make a guess.

The answer is……?

We have our Guessing Puzzle on Display at the front door where the puzzle design was created? The boys would love you to send your answer in. Happy guessing everyone!

Children encounter the spoken form of number and letters before they understand the meaning. Many children can count to 10 or 20 or say the alphabet without having the slightest idea of what 7 or 13 means or identify letters. This is because they are using rote to count and say the alphabet. There is nothing wrong with counting or saying the alphabet in rote it is the first step, children take in early mathematics and letter writing. Memorizing a sequence of number words or letters as we do when we learn a song. It is important to remember for children to learn the value of number or the understanding of letters they need to understand to count words and letters in the same order every time. It is important to take the time to number name or letter name each object or letter. One-on-one correspondence and the pictures above are a wonderful example of number one-on-one correspondence. We, as families and teachers can extend the children’s learning by introducing the order of objects and letters. Children can also learn the counting rules and the literacy rules in their play and interactions with others. Shaz, Sebastian and Paddy’s guessing puzzle is a wonderful example of learning together and challenging each other. It is always a delight to see children start to understand that each number represents a certain amount, but above all children learning not as a chore but a game, interesting, interest based, exciting and fun!

One of the best parts about being a part of our educational team is that our learning environment has many opportunities for the children and the adults to indulge themselves in having fun! We are spoilt every day with your children’s smiles, inquiring minds, questions, caring and thinking about each other and the laughter your children share. Thank you for the trust that you share as a family for our learning environment and with our educational team.

The Magic of Mud, there is nothing better than the squishy wet feeling in between our fingers. Our Clay Tree is not only beautiful, but it involved us to think about and manipulate how to keep the clay on the tree trunk involving a lot of problem solving and discussion.

Using natural materials that identifies our changing seasons and sorting and sequencing the graduating sizes.

Building a lady beetle house where the beetles can explore and fly away and return, we discovered that they love to race. On your mark, ready, set, GO! It was one of those things, you had to be there, but it was very funny watching the beetles each time we brought them back to the centre of the log circle to start the race again.
