Tutor: Rosie JamesExplore drawing with the sewing machine onto paper. Using

all sorts of printed, found and handmade papers to experiment with, including old maps, book pages, magazines,

dressmaking pattern papers, old receipts, paper food wrappings etc. Use collage techniques to create composed

pieces with the stitched element adding to the story. Expect to experiment!!

STITCH DRAW ON FABRIC4 day workshop

Tutor: Rosie JamesFocus on drawing with the sewing machine. Begin by learning

to draw people out and about, using fun observational drawing techniques and photography. Learn how to transfer these drawings and photographs onto cloth using the sewing

machine. Through a series of exercises, experiment with different fabrics and threads, using printed scraps to add

colour, and simple screen printing to build up layers of stitch and print.
