Alice borrowed one of my Twistand Cross magazines and madethis butterfly bookmark. She nowsubscribes to it as many of us do.

Not surprising that it has butter-flies.

We sure have found a lot of themround and about.

Speaking of which Alice has amessage for us all.

Calling all Butterflies!

Any butterflies you have made for Conference need tobe given to me. We need to get a count of what wehave made, and be able to plan how to best use them.It would be nice to have them by the Conferencemeeting on April 25 in McMinnville. Let me know if youhave a butterfly in progress that will be flying in a bitlater. Thanks to everyone. Alice=========================================

.From Jackie ——

Thanks to all that have registered andhelped with conference workings sofar. I am happy to report that registra-tion is going very well. Currently wehave about 80 paid attendees in 10classes. We have 6classes that have 9 plusstudents. Check out ourweb site on the classesthat are full or cancelled.

Kudos to Lynda for setting up our fineweb site and dandy registration formand Beverly for her terrific work withprocessing registration and contacting

participants and teachers. We will still be accepting registration until mid-May so if you have begin-ning students, be sure to mention Lynda’s class. There is still room in most of the classes. Pleasecontinue to advertise.

Don’t forget to make or design your name badge holder. We are having a contest to earn raffle tick-ets for several categories. The information is on the web site. We would like everyone to bring theirown favorite name badge holders.

We still have a lot of work to do so I am going to list some of the items that come to mind:*Set aside April 25 from 1:30-4:00 (or later) to meet at Jackie’s. We will be stuffing goodie bags*We need volunteers to pick up people at the airport and train station.*Think about when you will be available to help during the conference:

*Help with registration (Wed)*Teacher introductions and Welcome Get Together (Wed)*Registration (Thurs am)*Someone in each class to be a helper (usually an easy job) *Help with

raffle sales and set up (all days)*Help set up Thurs Teacher showcase (Thurs night)*Ideas for make and take activity (Sat)*Help set up and assist vendors (Sat am)*Sunday clean up

I am sure I have missed several items. Let me know so I can add them to ourlist.

We are getting close and I am getting excited about the conference. Once again, many thanks to allthe folks from Portland Lace for your support, work on the conference and just being so positiveabout everything.

Remember, if you cannot come for classes be sure to make up your list and come check out thevendors on Saturday. You can pack a lunch, pick up something at the vending machines, go down-town. Whatever you do, plan on having a good time and shop—shop—shop!

Beverly made this impressive 33 inch long valance based on the pattern inthe Austria-Spitze book. Instead of using only three pairs she used four. You can ask her about the hours in each repeat.

Not for the faint of heart, but what an accomplishment. When she isthrough carrying it around for our amazement, it will be a valance in herbathroom window. Lucky window wouldn’t you say?
