Transcript of Rose Garden - Baden near Vienna
Dear guests and visitors,
to the imperial spa town Baden near Vienna! In Baden you are on his-toric ground, a place where emperors and monarchs felt comfortable and the great composers found their inspiration. In the guest lists of ce-lebrities of our city there are great names such as Ludwig van Beetho-ven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Strauss father and son who composed masterpieces of music literature here.
For over 2000 years the sulfur water of Baden is used as a source of health. Considering this long tradition as a spa town, Baden has now developed into a modern health destination.
If you take a stroll through the historic ensemble of our city, you will find a wealth of recreational opportunities. Be it a sensual rose scent walk in Austria's largest rose garden, an active day in the thermal spa, the mod-ern Arnulf Rainer Museum, or a thrilling evening at the Grand Casino Baden. Baden is just never boring. You can also visit a classical oper-etta in the Badener Summer Arena with the roof open under clear starry sky - an unforgettable experience!
Personally, after a stressful day at work, I very much like to relax, by tak-ing a slow walk in our wonderful rose garden and admire the fine ele-gance and complexity of the queen of flowers.
In Austrias largest rose garden, the rose experts of Baden's City park cher-ish more than 30,000 rose plants in about 860 varieties. After that I usually meet up with friends for a good "Achterl" at a Badener wine tavern (we call them "Heurigen"). So you see, also we "Badeners" like to take our break in Baden and enjoy the incredible quality of life of this region.
As mayor of the city, I wish you many unforgettable experiences and a relaxing stay in Baden near Vienna.
