ACHIEVEMENTS AND LEADERSHIP
In 2007 and 2008 I qualified for membership of the Golden Key International Honour Society,
which invites the top 15% of academic achievers per faculty to become members. I represented
the Faculty of Accounting of the University of Stellenbosch.
In 2005 I was named on the Dean’s Merit List for Outstanding Academic Achievement at the
University of Cape Town for completion of my academic year cum laude.
In 2006 I was attained first prize for the Best Business Plan in the Information Systems 284
project sponsored by Deloitte.
I was chosen as Class Representative for Business Management 142 as well as Information
Systems 188 during 2006 which required me to liaise between lecturers and students.
I served on the Student Representative Council of the University of Stellenbosch as an active
member of the committee for Community Interaction and Environmental Affairs during 2006 and
2007. During this time we initiated the ‘Green Week’ which has since been held annually to
raise awareness of environmental issues. We also launched a recycling project involving hostels
and designed and implemented waste separation bins on campus.
While at Pretoria Girls High School I acted as Head of House for Netball as well as Squash in
2004, which required me to organize event and team arrangements.
INTERESTS AND INVOLVEMENT
During 2008 I was a member of the Stellenbosch branch of the society of United Nations
Association of South Africa and supported their environmental initiatives. I was also an active
member of the Maties Dance Society for Ballroom and Latin American Dancing and progressed
to an advanced level. My interest in the environment prompted me to join the mountain and
hiking society at the university and I regularly took part in excursions with other nature lovers. In
my spare time I play piano and paint, occasionally selling my artworks.
