Pitch of a RoofA pitch of a roof is the angle of the slopes. It can be define

as the rise over run. In other words the angle can be determine a distance of 12 units horizontally (run) and a

distance (varies) vertically (rise). Connect the starting point of the run and the end point of the rise to give you

the desired pitch. In the scenario below the pitch is a 4/12 pitch

This triangular symbol indicates the desired pitch of the roof. It is usually seen on an elevation of a house plan.
