How can you come to grips with someone giving Himself utterly for you, and not return or respond by giving yourself utterly to Him. It’s the only reasonable way to respond. To not do so is not just a violation in the moral sense, it’s the crucifixion of the intelligence. It’s as stupid as it is wicked. He took His hands off of His life and He fell into nothingness— for you. You take your hands off your life, and you simply fall into His. And He’s the only master that won’t consume you. It’s the only altar that will give you life and won’t kill you!—John Gerstner

CONCLUsiON

Off ering yourself as a living sacrifi ce is the only reasonable thing to do. How can you come to grips with someone giving Himself utterly for you, and not return or respond by giving yourself utterly to Him. It’s the only reasonable way to respond. To not do so is not just a violation in the moral sense, it’s the crucifi xion of the intelligence. It’s as stupid as it is wicked. He took His hands off of His life and He fell into nothingness—for you. You take your hands off your life, and you simply fall into His. And He’s the only master that won’t consume you. Two Broad Categories:

“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” (1 Peter 4:10–11)

Danger 1:

“Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.” (1 Corinthians 13:8)

“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; 4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?” (Hebrews 2:3–4)

Danger 2:

“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.” (Romans 12:3–5)
