A LITTLE HISTORY!

December 22, 1989: overthrow Ceausescu: restoration of democracy and market economy.

March 27, 2004: Romania joined OTAN.

     1st January 2007: Romania joined the European Union.

     A President of the Republic elected by direct universal suffrage for a term of 5 years as in France.

     Romania is divided into 6 or 7 regions and 41 countries or "Judete."

Dobrogea region

Dobrogea is divided into two departments (or judets): the Constanta and Tulcea one.The department of Constanta (south) has the largest port on the Black Sea, covering the south east ,

including a port of the Black Sea: Constanta and the Danube Delta, a protected region , natural forest Letea, World Heritage Site Unesco.

The oldest rocks, Hercynian age, outcrop in the southeast, in Dobrogea.The Wallachian plain is frequently covered with loess deposits.The loop Southeast: epicenter of many earthquakes.

Briefly Dobrogea: means sun, sea, Danube Delta, marshes, sunny hills, uplands, depressions, vineyards and several nature reserves.

Landscape: plains, mountains, sea

This region has a large number of archaeological monuments of the Graeco-Roman, witnesses of a rich and prosperous.

Romania on track to host the largest wind farm in the province of Dobrogea (southeastern Romania). Terrain: hilly, flat side of the Danube on the approach of the Black Sea.

MUSIC

• Romanian music is unique in the Eastern Europe since the Romanian population is Slavic, but mostly Latin, like that of Moldova whose music shares many aspects elsewhere. In addition, there is a large Roma minority in particular paid music and called the Lautari that accompany traditional feasts and banquets (weddings ...).

• Traditional folk music is very old and is reflected in today until the other styles of music - even the most modern and popular - played in the country. As a musician George Zamfir was the ambassador of this music thanks to its success around the world with his panpipe.

the vineyards of Murfatlar:

Dobrudja Bulgarian (south) plain is planted with large tracts of grain, separated by hedges from 10 to 20 feet wide (for home wildlife) planted at the end of the communist era in the fight against the soil erosion.

Handicraftsman

Ceramic products are very varied. Each production facility has its own characteristics, both in the forms in the decoration and the colors used.

In Romania, no time of service, we can eat at any hour: like a soup at 10am? a chicken breast at 5 in the afternoon? No problem!

  The cuisine reflects the multicultural nature of Romania, and bears the mark of the invaders (Romans, Tatar, Hungarian, German, Russian, Greek, Turkish.

Cook : a rich taste.Also linked by peasant traditions and very influenced by the seasons too :

summer abundance of fruits and vegetables,   Winter vegetables and fresh fruits are replaced with pickles.

Project Romania: to protect and publicize local products in Europe.  In 2010, the magiun plum Topoloveni has already obtained the protected designation of origin.

Why not now for Plescoi sausages, salami and Nadlac of tasty bread Pecica?

Culinary specialties

Romanian specialties : the Sarmale, and Borch: liquid made of sound to sour dishes and soups.The garden orach : a plant found in France. It gives a bluish color to the broth.

The porridge : cornmeal, flat base of the Romanian Peasant, reminiscent of Italian polenta,  with white cheese made from cow's or sheep's milk a little sour.  The tochitura (mixture of pork and veal with chicken liver).

  The Sarmale : leaves of cabbage (or vine, beet, radish) stuffed with rice, meat, mushrooms, herbs and vegetables.

All dishes are often made of cabbage, potatoes, bacon.

Wine : environ 12°Romania is a big producer of wine and some of the best vineyards are Murfatlar: Lacrima He Ovidiu

and late harvest Chardonnay and Pinot Gris: sweet, Cotnari, Bohotin JidveiBeer is cheap in Romania. The local brand the most important : Ursus.

WHY VISIT THIS CITY?

Third largest city in Romania, Constanta is now an important cultural and economic center, which is worth exploring for its archaeological treasures and the atmosphere of the old town. Historical monuments, ancient ruins, a large casino, museums and shops, and resorts are near the lighthouse on the coast of the Black Sea.  Many Roman remains, historic buildings, facades and mosques, churches carved into the rock color the Old City. Open-air restaurants, nightclubs and cabarets offer a wide variety of entertainment.  You can visit traditional villages, vineyards, ancient monuments and the Danube Delta, a haven for bird lovers.
