ROMAN IMPERIAL PALACE

Some Roman History The Imperial Palace was constructed by

the order of the emperor Augustus in 4th century A.D. It was located near the city of Milan when Milan was the capital of the Roman Empire. Unfortunately, the palace was greatly damaged during World War II.

Where was it located? The Roman Imperial Palace is located on

the Palatine Hill, one of the seven mangus (big) hills in the Roman Empire It is also located near the city of Milan.

What does it look like? Obviously, the Roman Imperial Palace

was ingens (huge). One of its main features is its spatiosam (spacious) courtyard. The courtyards contained beautiful fountains that still spring up water. However, it also contains a granditer (grand) stadium.

What’s the purpose. The Roman Imperial Palace was mostly where the

emperor and fidus (loyal) subjects would visit and/or live. The courtyard was mostly a place to relax. The stadium was built for more like a gym where people trained for athletic events. In fact, people say that the emperor wanted the palace to be close to the Circus Maximus so he could get a good view of the event at the comfort of his palace.
