IMPORTANT SHOW INFORMATIONThe Three Counties Agricultural Showground is arguably one of the finest venues in the country for dog exhibitors and offers a wide range of facilities. The showground nestles at the foot of the Malvern Hills, which provides a dramatic backdrop to the show.

This is an agricultural venue used by all types of livestock. Exhibitors must be realistic, although a ‘clean up’ operation will have taken place prior to our show, there will be smells and dust associated with such use. The area used for the outside grass may be more comparable to a garden lawn where dogs live, it is certainly not a bowling green surface and as such the condition of the rented ground is beyond the control of the NGA. If you have any doubt about moving your dogs on a grass surface, showing some wear and tear then please think carefully before entering your dog. The aforementioned constitutes fair warning and the NGA cannot be held responsible for dogs which are unable for one reason or another to move on what might be considered normal outdoor surfaces.

THE NGA DOES NOT USE PASSES OF ANY DESCRIPTION AT THIS SHOW. Please complete the 'Records of Dogs entered' form on page 20. It is advisable that you also send a stamped addressed postcard/envelope for confirmation of receipt of your entry. It is the exhibitors responsibility to know which dogs they have entered. There will be no opportunity to confirm that your entry has been received later on.

CATALOGUES: Catalogues can only be purchased at the Show for £6.00 each. There are no pre-ordered catalogues. Lists of exhibitors and bench numbers will be available within the entrance to each building where the benching is housed for those not wishing to purchase a catalogue.

UNENTERED DOGS: Please note the ‘Not For Competition’ provision, for those dogs that you do not wish to leave at home. Your dogs will be benched along with your entered dog. Puppies under four months of age cannot be accepted NFC; all other dogs irrespective of the breed will be accepted. The NGA also recognises KC regulations concerning ‘spectator’s dogs’. That is dogs brought into the showground with spectators who can for a fee of £5.00 register them with the Secretary after having completed the necessary KC form. Puppies under four months of age would not be accepted under ‘spectator’s dog’ criteria by the NGA. As usual all money collected from 'Spectator Dogs' will be sent to a charity, yet to be decided.

CAR PARKING is FREE. All exhibitors will use the BROWN GATE into the Brown Car Park to enter the showground. The NGA is committed to our Disabled exhibitors who should display their blue disabled badge and who will then be directed to a designated area for disabled drivers within this car park. We have allowed in excess of that set out in Health and Safety guidelines and we have also taken into account previous year’s car park figures. Whilst we try and deliver good service to our disabled exhibitor’s places can only be made on a first come first served basis. This designated area is closer to the majority of benching areas than any area used in the past for disabled parking. Please consider the location of the car parking carefully before making your entry.

Pedestrian access will be through the West Gate Pedestrian access/exit. Directional boards and Directional Stewards will assist you in finding your benching and ring area. These should not be changed from previous years. See classification list for benching details.

DOGS IN VEHICLES: THE COMMITTEE INTEND TO REFUSE ENTRIES FOR FUTURE SHOWS FROM EXHIBITORS FOUND TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE COMMITTEE TO HAVE LEFT DOGS IN A DISTRESSED CONDITION IN VEHICLES.

HEALTH AND SAFETY WARNING — CONDITIONS UNDER FOOT MAY BECOME WET DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER. IT IS THEREFORE ADVISABLE TO WEAR SHOES WHICH WILL REDUCE THE RISK OF SLIPPING ON SUCH A WET SURFACE.

A Health & Safety Officer is appointed at this show. Exhibitors and visitors to the show are reminded that just as the NGA have responsibility to ensure the health and safety of all those attending the event, all those attending have a duty to care for their own safety. You are therefore expected to take the greatest care to avoid uneven surfaces and other hazards which are inevitable and an integral element of an outdoor show. Those bringing and using portable items of equipment such as folding chairs, trolleys, cages and grooming tables have a duty of care not only to themselves and their equipment/dogs, but also to other exhibitors and visitors to the show. Please DO NOT erect gazebos within the precincts of the Show.

SECURITY: In making an entry for this show you agree to be solely responsible for the security of your dogs and property within the showground area, during the show. Please consider this before entering the show. The National Gundog Association cannot accept responsibility for any item stolen during the show.

COOKED BREAKFASTS: Will be served in the Stockman's building from 8.00 am.

TRADE STAND HOLDERS: The committee of the National Gundog Association cannot accept responsibility for products advertised or sold by stand holders at this show and exhibitors are reminded that grooming products on sale may not meet the requirements of the Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition.

UNAUTHORISED SELLING OF GOODS: There is to be NO selling of goods from any areas within the showground without authority. Trade stands are an integral part of the show and have paid for the privilege to sell their goods within the precincts of the show. There is no automatic right to sell goods by any other person attending the show. Anyone found selling goods from anywhere on the showground without such authority will be asked to leave the showground immediately.

CARAVANS: Caravan facilities will be provided by the Three Counties Showground from Monday 27th July 2020 until Monday 3rd August 2020. There is no pre-booking at this time but plenty of pitches. The approximate cost is £16.50 per night per pitch and £6.20 per night for electric hook up. For further details please contact the showground. Please DO NOT ring the NGA Show Secretary.

BY CAR — Refer to the map on the rear of the inside cover.

BY RAIL — Great Malvern Station is approximately 2 miles from the showground.

HOTELS AND GUEST HOUSES — please contact the Malvern Tourist Information Centre on 01684 892289.

UNFORESEEN EVENTS AFFECTING THE SHOW: In case of any unforeseen event affecting the Show, updates will be posted on our Facebook page or Fosse Data Systems' website www.fossedata.co.uk

ITALIAN SPINONE CLUB OF GB: Please note that Italian Spinone Club of GB will be holding an Open Show in conjunction with the NGA Championship Show. Schedules/information can be obtained from the Secretary, Ms Linda Mayne, on 01425 474951 or by e-mail: [email protected]

• ENTRY FEES •Exhibitors are asked to note that Cheques sent to cover entry fees must be in order for immediate payment. Those which are not so for any reason whatsoever (including technical irregularities) will not be accepted and the entries therewith will be returned (at a charge of £20.00). Overseas exhibitors must pay in sterling.Every year numerous exhibitors underpay their entry fees by one or two pounds, this causes additional administration and phone calls to retrieve the amounts owed. Add them all together and they make a considerable amount. We have therefore decided reluctantly to make a surcharge on these underpaid amounts by £5.00.

DOGS IN VEHICLES and CHILDREN ON THE SHOWGROUNDThe Committee of the NATIONAL GUNDOG ASSOCIATION intend to REFUSE THE ENTRIES FOR THE FUTURE SHOWS from exhibitors found to have left dogs in vehicles and in a distressed condition. REMEDIAL ACTION WILL IMMEDIATELY BE TAKEN.

Exhibitors and others attending the Show are reminded that they are responsible for the behaviour of their children on site.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING BENCHING & IDENTIFICATION OF DOGSIt is a Kennel Club requirement that exhibitors display the exhibit/bench number on their crate, cage or container at all times. This is particularly important when cages etc. are not on benches, and at unbenched shows. Each exhibitor is responsible for providing their own crate or cage identification and should note that the original exhibit/bench number card, as provided by the show society, must not be used for this purpose. It is important to be able to contact exhibitors and identify dogs where a dog may be in distress or where the crate might be blocking a gangway. At benched shows soft crates may only be put on benches if they are the appropriate size for both the dog and the bench, and the crate can be securely attached to the bench. Both of these points were introduced with the safety of all in mind, but most importantly that of the dog, and to minimise potential incidents and injuries.Exhibitors should also be reminded that Show Regulation F(1).17 requires that dogs should be present on their benches at all times except when being judged, prepared for exhibition or exercised.

The National Gundog Association supportsTHE KENNEL CLUB HEALTH FOUNDATION FUND

Funds for Research into DNA Testing • The Kennel Club Health Foundation Fund (KCHFF) is an exciting initiative, created to

provide funding for research leading to the development of DNA tests for use in the identification and control of inherited diseases in dogs.

• The idea is that Breed Clubs and Councils wishing to investigate a particular condition in their breed should collaborate with a scientific laboratory and submit a research proposal funding to the Foundation Fund.

• The intent is that the Clubs and Councils will have done some fundraising and that the amount sought will be “top-up” funding. The precise level of funding requested will not be an issue in determining whether funds are allocated.

• There will be regular reports detailing progress of projects funded and frequently updated pages on the Foundation Fund and all associated activities on the KC’s web site.

You can help by agreeing to pay one extra pound with your National Gundog Association entry fee. The National Gundog Association pledges to donate a sum of money to the KCHFF to complement that amount raised by exhibitors. Please be generous in your support.

The minimum qualification for the Crufts final will be 50 points, with a maximum of 40 finalists including the winning teams from the European and World Dog Shows’ breeders competition. Our Dogs will collate the points and publish a leader board through the year. Please Note: Dogs which take part in the Breeders' Competition, but are not entered in the show, are required to have a completed entry form. Owners of these dogs must attend the Secretary’s office to complete the entry form.

IMPORTED BREED REGISTER For breeds confined to the Imported Breeds Register and only when an Interim Breed Standard has been published by the Kennel Club. Such breeds may be exhibited in this class only, with the winning dog being eligible for Best in Group / Best Puppy in Group or Best in Show / Best Puppy in Show as relevant.

YKC MEMBERS' STAKES Only dogs of six (6) calendar months of age and over on the day of competition are eligible for entry into a YKC qualifying stakes class. Dogs must be on the Kennel Club Breed register to compete in a YKC stakes competition. The YKC method for Crufts qualification is a points based system as follows: 1st Place = 30 points; 2nd Place = 15 points; 3rd Place = 10 points. If a member and dog combination accumulate 30 points or more, they will qualify for Crufts. Points will be allocated for the Dog and Handler pairing. All points are reset to 0 on 1st February each year. All pedigree dogs are eligible to take part provided the dog is registered on the Kennel Club Breed Register. The dog must be registered; a. Solely or jointly in the member’s name or b. In the name of a close member of the family (i.e a group of people related by blood or marriage) and under these circumstances the dog must be resident at the YKC member’s address. No substitute handlers are permitted - the dog must be handled by the registered YKC member. Members are not permitted to allow another individual to show their dog at the qualifier on their behalf if they are not able to attend the class, unless agreed by the YKC Office prior to the show. Members must be aged 6 -24 years (members 6 years and up to, but not including 25th birthday). Please note that membership of the YKC terminates on a members 25th birthday. Therefore if a member is aged 25 years or over by the first day of Crufts they will be unable to compete in any YKC class. Please keep this in mind when entering qualifiers throughout the competing year. In order to enter any YKC competition, you must be a fully paid up member at the time of entry and competition. If you enter a Crufts qualifier and you have not previously paid your membership fee then any award will be forfeited. Therefore it is important to renew and maintain YKC membership as current if you wish to participate in YKC competitions. Before competing, please view a full list of the YKC competition rules at: www.ykc.org.uk/ and follow the compete tab.

YKC MEMBERS' HANDLING Only dogs of six (6) calendar months of age and over on the day of competition are eligible for entry into an YKC qualifying class. Classes for handling are decided by the handler’s age. The classes are divided into three age groups: 6-11 years (6 years and up to, but not including 12th birthday); 12-17 years (12 years and up to, but not including 18th birthday); 18-24 years (18 years and up to, but not including 25th birthday). Please enter the class age category you will be on the day of the qualifier. If you should move into the next age range after you have already qualified, the YKC will invite you

into the correct age group at Crufts. The method for Crufts qualification is a points based system as follows: 1st Place = 30 points; 2nd Place = 15 points; 3rd Place = 10 points. Members will receive points per group (i.e. if they handle a bloodhound, they will get points towards the Hound group). If a member gets 30 points in any one group, they will qualify to enter a dog from that group at Crufts 2021. If a member gains 30 or more points in multiple groups, they may only compete with one dog at Crufts, but they will have the option to choose from any of the groups they have 30 or more points in. All points are reset to 0 on 1st January each year. In order to enter any YKC competition, you must be a fully paid up member at the time of entry and competition. If you enter a Crufts qualifier and you have not previously paid your membership fee then any award will be forfeited. Before competing, please view a full list of the YKC competition rules at: www.ykc.org.uk/ and follow the compete tab. YKC Handling classes may be the first and only entry for a dog at this show. If, at this show, a dog is entered only YKC Handling class (i.e. that dog is not entered in a breed class or YKC Stakes class), that dog must be registered on EITHER the relevant Kennel Club breed register OR the Kennel Club activity register. If a dog is entered into YKC handling and any other class (i.e. a breed class or YKC Stakes class), that dog MUST be on the relevant Kennel Club breed register.

SENIOR HANDLING Open to all handlers within the prescribed age groups. Each handler's dog must have already been entered in another class at the Show. The details of the handler and the class number must be entered on the entry form in the specified place. No entries will be taken on the day.

12. Exhibits will not be admitted to Best in Show competition after a period of ten minutes has elapsed since the announcement that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have been unavoidably delayed by previous judging not being completed on time, and then only with the special permission of the Show Management.

13. Exhibitors must not pick up dogs by their tails and leads when lifting them nor handle a dog in a manner which causes its feet not to touch the ground when on the move. This is not acceptable. guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events.• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday route,

and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all.• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to

drink.• Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.• Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water available

to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time.

Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results. Please look after your dog’s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED.

17. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the Board for disciplinary action under the Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. The use of pinch collars, electronic shock collars, or prong collars, is not permitted at any show licensed by the Kennel Club. This shall apply at the venue or within the precincts of the show.

18. Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered.

19. No modifications will be made to this Schedule except by permission of the Board of the Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible.

20. All postal entries must be made on or before Wednesday, 10th June 2020 (Post Office postmark), upon the form enclosed for that purpose. Entries received by post not later than 0900 hours on Wednesday, 17th June 2020 will be accepted, provided that they bear a Post Office postmark not later than 10th June 2020. In your own interest please use first class mail. On-line entries can be made up until midnight on Wednesday, 1st July 2020 at www.fossedata.co.uk.
