Roles of the Officials in netball They each are placed on different parts of the

court to the right of them, with the other following on the other side just in case she/he needs a

second opinion. At further down the court they will often be the

timekeeper and also might do the scores themselves, whilst as you go higher to keep from distraction, there are others on the side line their jobs is to watch for fouls, footwork and breaking

the rules etc. They also tell the team who's centre it is, as in

netball the centre pass alternates and is not affected by who scored last.

5 Basic Rules

Players cannot make any physical contact.I think this rule is good because it stops taller

and bigger players using their size to unfair advantages.

Obstruction

Defenders have to stand 3ft away from the player with the ball and can only try to win the ball once it has been released into the

air. Players can mark other players, even when

they haven’t got the ball, but any physical contact results in a penalty pass being

awarded.

Ball Control When a player receives a pass they are not allowed to run with the ball or dribble with it.

Three-second rule

The three second rule is so that the game is played at a fast pace, players are given only three seconds to make a pass after catching

the ball.

RegulationSome of the regulation in netball are:

The type of clothing you have to wear this is important in netball so they no their

positions also if your going to wear things like sin pads, mouth guide etc this is so you

don't get hurt and injure yourself.

Regulation 2 There can only be 7 players on the court in the

match. This is because every player has a specific job. Each player is spaced across

the court. Also, so that it is safe and not too crowded with a lot

of players on the court. This helps the game so there is more people to pass to on your team, make the game fast

and the players are more spaced out.

Regulation 3 The size of the ball can be a regulation for

example a size 4 ball is used for younger players and a size 5 ball is what adults use to play. This is important so the ball is easier to catch.

Scoring System The ball gets passed down the court by a

number of players and is passed to either the Goal Attack (GA) or Goal Shoot (GS) they can then throw the ball through the net and score 1 point every time the ball goes through. After it has gone through it is then taken back to the centre for a centre pass.
