What is the role of institution?
The role of institutional contexts in learning to teach, clearly teacher –learners' ideas about teaching stem from their experiences as students in the context of school; similarly, their new practices as teachers are also shaped by these institutional environments.
Role of institution
In the context of in-service teacher education, however, the role of the institution has been much more central.
As researcher have looked at what made center schools more effective then others, attention shifted to the role of institution context and its relation to teacher education (Rosenholtz 1989).
Teacher Education In general, little attention has
been paid to how the sociocultural forces and values in these institutional environments can shape, impede, encourage or discourage new teacher.
Pre-service teacher education has treated institution as place where teacher learners go to practice teaching in practice or internships, and eventually to work.
