Role Description:Event Co-ordinator
Aim
To work alongside staff, students and other volunteers to raise awareness of the service and to inform and educate about symptoms and the effects of eating disorders on individuals, communities and local services and the volunteer opportunities offered by Seed and Breathe.
Specific Event Coordinator Tasks
Carry out an audit of previous venues / events where presentations have been done and collating the previous feedback and to repeat this annually
Proactively approach organisations for future presentations Plan a calendar of future events and presentations and coordinate a
rota of volunteers to cover them Create a weekly availability calendar of the Awareness Volunteer
Team and organising their attendance Planning and coordinating the logistics of each event Assess and Manage risk during Awareness Events Coordinate and lead the team of Awareness Volunteers Mentor, train and support other Awareness Volunteers Processing the feedback from events / presentations
General Event Co-ordinator Tasks
Attend publicity events with staff e.g. presentations and awareness days to chat to potential volunteers and service users and give them a volunteers viewpoint
Deliver presentations to a variety of audiences Distributing posters and leaflets / emailing PDF leaflets and posters Put together ‘goody bags’ to be distributed at publicity events Input needed for around a day a week on a flexible basis Take photographs at relevant presentations, awareness days and
events Supporting staff with…
o planning, organisation and delivery of formal promotional events e.g. volunteer events, GP/ Healthcare training events etc…
o creation of publicity presentations, speeches, written articles, display boards, leaflets and posters.
o promotion of events through contacting newspapers, magazines and radio stations
o writing short articles to be included in a newsletter and other documents
o creating press releases to newspapers and magazines Attend regular meetings, training and mentoring.
