but its antecedents with respect to work roles are not
well understood.
• In this paper a survey from 221 international tourist hotel
employees is taken.
• This research was conducted to analyze the impact of
workplace relationships on the job roles of employees
and also the factors the leads to role ambiguities.
Results & Discussions
• International hotel employees will experience higher role ambiguity
because of their frequent customer contact nature of job.
• On the other hand, teamwork is also extremely important in hotels.
• Moreover Workplace friendships has positive functions such as
cooperation and support.
• Thus role ambiguity is significantly associated with reduced
interrelationships and workplace friendships.
• Thus enhancing role clarity may help facilitate employees’
workplace relationships, improves understanding of co workers role
expectations and reduces role conflicts
