In December 2008, Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley stated that he wanted to double the amount of Apprentices registered in our State.


Maryland passed legislation in 2009 that created an additional funding

source for registered Apprenticeship in our State.


Two Apprenticeship Navigators were hired to integrate and market

Apprenticeship Training into the Workforce System.


Maryland Apprenticeship and Training personnel are funded from a

variety of sources.


The State Apprenticeship Programs reported a high non-completion rate

due to a variety of reasons.

The largest reason was a lack of qualified applicants.
