This style was primarily used in interior design, painting architecture and sculpture. The interior of caves are decorated with rocks and shells, so the shells became the principal adornment in Rococo. Feminine style is an important part of the movement.

This style appealed to senses rather than intellect. The themes used were romance, mythology, fantasy and every day life. The wealthy women competed for the best and most elaborated decorations in their houses, so interior and furniture were decorated with abstracts and curves and asymmetrical shapes.
