Rockpanel has unique characteristics and is available in many colours and designs
Contemporary design
With its unique properties Rockpanel® connects to
the themes of the architectural landscape. This flex-
ible and robust board can be cut, bent, curved and
shaped to facilitate the design of unusual forms and
shapes.
A valuable building
Thanks to its natural (basalt-based) composition, it
is also perfectly compatible with the requirement for
sustainable, environmentally efficient materials. As
solid as stone and therefore impervious to the effects
of the weather. It is also as workable as wood. The
panels are easy to fit, hardly require any maintenance
and retain their original freshness, which means sub-
stantial cost savings.
Our range
Different colours and different designs. Each product
has its own beautiful characteristics. Ideal for facades,
roof-edge applications or for special details like
ceiling, entrances or infilling. Classic or bold, re-
strained or playful, charming and idiosyncratic. With
Rockpanel you will give every house or industrial
building a unique look.
BRE Global A+ / A rated1
Rockpanel had the environmental performance of its products assessed by the authoritative BRE Global, part of the Building Research Establish-ment (BRE), a British research and certification centre respected worldwide for its independent ex-pertise. On the basis of a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), BRE Global granted Rockpanel an Environ-mental Product Declaration (EPD) that showed that Rockpanel products are acknowledged as amongst the best performing in their category with A+ and A ratings for various structures. A recognition which provides an assurance that opting in favour of low maintenance Rockpanel facade cladding in a sustainable construction project is a responsible choice.

About Rockpanel The Rockwool Group has evolved over the years from offering stone wool based products and solutions to developing products, systems and services within the building envelope that protect buildings from their environment and protect the environment from the impact of buildings. An evolution now expressed by “Create and Protect”. For every imaginable building type or building part, the Rockwool Group offers a broad range of solutions. What Rockpanel offers for the facade, Rockwool and Rockfon offer for the acoustic and thermal insulation of build-ings: delivering a unique combination of design free-dom, durability, fire resistance and cost efficiency. The sustainable board material Rockpanel is - like all Rockwool products - produced from the natural source basalt rock. This is the volcanic rock from which all Rockwool products derive their unique properties. With Rockpanel board material you can deliver cutting edge modern architectural approaches, such as layering and organic shapes, whilst always remaining focused on cost issues and installation times. Rockpanel combines the advantages of stone and wood in a single product. The products have been used in different countries for many years to finish facades, roof features and building details. As rainscreen cladding in ventilated construc-tions, the boards provide a cost efficient and stylish fin-ish for any building, whether a refurbishment or new build project.

For a colourfast decorative statement on the outside wall, Rockclad is the perfect choice. The colours are divid-ed into the following groups: grey/lead, yellow/sand, red/terra, green/sea, and blue/sky. These colour groups offer the possibility of creating a harmonious combined effect or a daring contrast on the wall. The Rockpanel Rockclad Bright range offers 4 bold colours which allow a building to make a unique statement.
Rockpanel Rockclad comes as standard in 100 colours, 20 of which are available direct from stock. Also all other RAL/NCS colours are available with a minimum 100 m² order for each colour. The Rockpanel Rockclad Bright range consists of 4 distinctive colours and comes in measurements 8 mm x 1200 mm x 3050 mm, avail-able direct from stock.
DimensionsPanel thickness 6 mm or 8 mm
Panel width 1200 mm (1250 mm from 100 m2)
Panel length 3050 mm or 2500 mm

Technical implementationDurable for use in regular façade and roofline applications.
Xtreme for use when a greater degree of impact resistance is required, usually towards ground-level.

Rockpanel Woods: a durable alternativeRockpanel Woods is an effective and durable alternative to real wood with environmental credentials which are second to none. Only 1 m3 of the natural and sustainable resource, basalt, is needed to produce more than 400 m2 of board material.
Besides that Rockpanel Woods can be recycled. For a design approach commit-ted to the environment, Rockpanel Woods is the natural solution.

The innovative characteristics com-bined with a rich design and colour range make it possible to create a unique signature for your building.
24
Typical natural colour after fixing
Indicative natural colour after ± 6 weeks
The purest version of our board material is Rockpanel Natural. With natural weathering from sunlight and the elements, the appearance of this hard-wearing, unpainted board material changes. Let nature do her work in the design of your building.
The ageing effect is influenced by the elements of nature and differs due to artificial conditions even at micro level. Therefore the exact ageing and uniformity of the effect can not be predicted.
For a perfect final result with Rockpanel Natural it is important to work carefully during application and in detailling. For more information check the product datasheet Natural on www.rockpanel.com.

Innovation in renovation!
28
To make the fitting of tongue-and-groove panelling more simple and to improve post installation maintenance, Rockpanel has developed an innovative clip. The clip ensures that the supporting structure is ventilated even more effectively, reducing moisture retention, and thus increasing the structure’s durability. The mounting clip is mandatory for a correct installa-tion of Rockpanel Lines² 8.

Rockwool Group: Create and Protect
38
The best building envelopes are designed to maintain a healthyindoor climate, while protecting the building and its occupantsfrom undesirable influences. They also protect the environ-ment from harmful emissions and other negative effects of buildings. The Rockwool Group helps creating the best building enve-lopes possible – for buildings that behave responsibly for generations. Rockwool insulation solutions, Rockfon acoustic ceilings and Rockpanel facade cladding offer solutions for the building envelope that protect buildings from their environ-ment and protect the environment from the impact of build-ings.
As a building design is transformed from a sketch into a physi-cal structure, it begins to take on its own life – accommodatingthe people who use it and occupying space in the landscape. Buildings can be thought of as behaving in the world. They pro-tect their occupants from the elements. They consume energy. They create indoor climates. And they interact with their sur-roundings and the environment. Much of a structure’s behaviour depends on the nature of itsbuilding envelope, or the “skin” that separates inside from outand determines where and how air, water, light and other ele-ments are allowed to enter and escape.
