Responsibilities include: •Verify compliance with applicable Banking regulations. •Verify compliance with policies set forth by management and/or the board of directors. •Independently research regulations for updates and test whether the Bank is compliant. •Verify that the records of the bank are complete and accurate, and that transactions are properly recorded. •Verify completeness and accuracy of documentation related to Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improve Act (FDICIA) / Sarbanes-Oxley. •Plan, perform, and report on the design and operating effectiveness of financial reporting controls under Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improve Act (FDICIA) / Sarbanes Oxley Act. •Recommend financial and operational improvement suggestions for the Bank. •Perform timely follow-up on significant findings identified through audit procedures. •Assist management as needed with the development of actions plans. •Prepare reports for presentation to management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors based upon findings discovered during internal audits. •Provide assistance to external auditors and examiners. •Verify that assets and liabilities are properly disclosed in the financial statements. •Verify revenue is properly recognized. •Verify that expenses are authorized, correct in amount, and consistent with bank policy. •Train employees and make presentations as needed. •Supervise and provide assistance to other Internal Audit staff.
