Robotic End Effectors
End-of-arm tools, known as EndEffectors, give robots the ability topick up parts and handle tools.
End Effectors are used for such tasks as material handling, grasping, drilling, painting, and welding.

Robotic End Effectors
End-of-arm tooling is a critical part ofan industrial robot system, as it is thepart of the system that actually linksto robot to the workpiece.

Robotic End Effectors
There are 3 general types of industrial robotic End Effectors:
Grippers
Tools
Measuring Instruments

Grippers
Grippers are used for industrial material handling applications.

Mechanical grippers typically use “fingers” to pick-up and place materials. Two fingered and multi-fingered arrangements are commonly found in industrial applications.
Mechanical Grippers

Mechanical grippers may use pneumatic, hydraulic, or electrical actuators to power the linkages attached tothe fingers.
Mechanical grippers may not be suitable for handling objects that are delicate or brittle

Magnetic grippers use electromagnets to lift and place materials in a factory.

End effectors shaped like hooks and scoops are also usedin industrial material handling applications.
Other Types Of Grippers

Tools are used where a specific operation needs to be carried out such as spot welding, painting, or drilling.
End Effector Tools

Measuring instruments such as dial indicators, depth gauges, and laser measuring devices can also be attached to the end of a robot arm.
End Effector Instruments
