Protecting children, strengthening families, and empowering our communities through innovative, life-enhancing services.

Dear Friends and Family,On behalf of the Board of Directors and the hundreds of talented staff and dedicated volunteers who comprise our Robins’ Nest family, we would like to thank you for your partnership in advancing our mission of protecting children, strengthening families, and empowering the communities in which they live. By working together, we are truly making a difference in so many lives throughout New Jersey, and we are humbled and grateful for your commitment to transforming lives with us each and every day.

2017 marked a year of substantial growth for Robins’ Nest, as we were able to provide services to 13,033 New Jersey children and families. This year we were excited to extend our footprint to central New Jersey with the expansion of our Family Preservation Services program into Mercer and Monmouth counties, and the opening of our Oasis Family Success Center in Ocean County. In total, this year we opened four locations to better serve our newest communities with life-enhancing programming, and created 82 new professional positions.

As we expanded our programming, we recognized that we needed to not only invest in staffing and facilities, but also in an organizational infrastructure that would support our continued growth and client-centric access to services. A key part of that infrastructure foundation was the successful reorganization of our leadership team. This reorganization allowed us to strengthen our programmatic divisions by more closely aligning related services, thereby providing the support needed for future programming.

Because of your support, we can continue to leave a lasting and transformational impact on the lives of those in need throughout our state. Together, we will continue to help children, families, and individuals grow and succeed. Their bright futures are possible because of you.

Since our inception, Robins’ Nest has been a vital resource for community members facing difficult life challenges. Whether you are a parent struggling with your child’s behavior, a veteran in need of some additional support at home, or an expectant mom looking for a safe place to raise a baby, Robins’ Nest is here for you. As we continue to evolve to meet the needs of the communities we serve, we are reminded of our commitment to providing the best and most appropriate care for children and families throughout New Jersey.

Staff in our Integrated Health programs work collaboratively to provide clients with essential mental health and substance abuse treatments and support that improve their overall well-being. By looking at the biological, psychological, and social needs of the client, we are able to enhance access to services for all while perfecting the quality of care received.

Our Child Protection and Permanency programs are designed to help strengthen families that are at risk of having their child removed from their home or have had a child already removed. Staff work to improve family functioning through support, therapy, and advocacy. Families involved with our foster, kinship, and adoption programs receive support through the sometimes stressful transition towards permanent placement.

The goal of our Prevention Services is to prevent the cycle of child abuse and ultimately build happy, bright futures for at-risk children and families. Within these services, we provide education to new parents to help guide them through raising a healthy baby and becoming a self-suffi cient family unit, as well as community-based programs designed to give families a safe place to interact with one another, acquire invaluable life skills, and learn more about the resources available in their communities.

CommunityWe are committed to providing all community members the best possible resources so they can strengthen their skills and achieve a productive future.

We expanded the communities we serve to include children and families in central and coastal New Jersey. Inviting the community to be a part of our Family Success Center Mosaic Art Project spoke to the importance of working together to make dreams a reality.

CollaborationStrong partnerships with local organizations and foundations allow us to enhance our programming and off er services to even more individuals.

Support from Boeing and the Salem Health and Wellness Foundation make it possible for our counseling staff to provide life-enhancing mental health services at no cost to veterans living in Gloucester and Salem counties.

CultivationAs the needs of our community evolve, we strive to develop new and innovative ways to better serve New Jersey residents.

We invested in Information Technology by expanding encryption services and implementing TigerText, a seamless communication platform between providers and clients. We also opened our Innovation Hub and developed an internal Innovation Program to stimulate breakthrough ideas to better serve those in our care.

Growing to fi t your needsIn 2017, we consolidated our fi ve programmatic departments into three divisions to become more integrated, collaborative, and effi cient while continuing to set high standards of support for those entrusted to our care. Strategically restructured into Integrated Health, Child Protection & Permanency, and Prevention Services, these divisions better align with the growing needs and expectations of our families, communities, key stakeholders and funders.
