First you need to draw what you would like to print onto your cut-out piece of lino.

Before you start coping the drawing onto the lino you need to stick your drawing down onto the lino with pieces of masking tape

you also need to Flip the drawing so it is face down onto the piece of lino.

You now need to trace your drawing onto the lino using a pencil.

Once you have finished tracing you should have a image on the lino

Now you can begin to cut out the lines in the drawing with a special tool called a lino cutter.

You have to be careful as the tools are dangerous. When using the line cutter to avoid cutting yourself your hand must be behind the hand you are cutting with.

A laser printer is a type of digital printing which prints writing and pictures in quick succession with a decent quality.

The drum is given a charge by something called a corona wire,

When the drum moves the printer begins to shine and create a tiny laser beam on the surface to get rid of certain points on the paper.

Page 16: Robert's work media level 2

The drum then prints the image onto paper by direct contact and heat, which fuses the ink to the paper.
