Some of what we assess will help us decide what to do next; some of what we assess will be used to determine your final grades. There will be an opportunity to rewrite assignments and redo exams throughout the term and your highest mark will be used. At the end of your term just prior to report cards, your teacher will identify a time when rewrites/redos are not possible. We need evidence of your work to assess – if you do not complete an assignment on time, you will be given a “window” to complete the assignment before being scheduled for completion – this may include time with staff during the white block, Thirsk days, assessment week, before/after school The report card mark captures your progress on the outcomes at a particular point in time and may not reflect an average - our work as professionals is more about grade determination of the outcomes rather than grade calculation. You will be required to participate in self-assessment. Robert Thirsk High School
