Humphrey Elliot the adopted son of Captain Francis Champernowne, and Mary (Cutt) Hoel of Barbados
Humphrey is son, and
Champernowne Elliot becomes heir, of Capt Francis Champernowne.
Also the Champernowne including Humphrey marry the Cutts.
Humphrey has sons;Robert then Champernowne
Robert is an Elliott/Cutt name, but Humphrey is a Champernowne name.
Humphrey's biological parents.
Robert Elliot 1661, had a courtship with Sarah (Saunders) Turbet, widow of Peter Turbet.
1661, Capt Francis Champernowne, gives an apprenticeship to the son of Sarah Turbet widow of Peter Turbet, to her son Peter, for eleven years.
It is felt that the biological parents of Humphrey Elliot b. 1662 are Robert Elliot and Sarah Turbet widow of Peter Turbet.
Give great thanks to; Eric R. Christian, Eliot Historical Society without him I would never been able to ascertain, any results, an hope he makes suggestions to make corrections.

Addendum;
Clarification on wifes and relations of Robert Elliot.
Shows that Robert Elliot and Sarah Fryer had one grandchild Abigail, the last to get married.So it is felt that other grandchildren are from other marriages.
It should be noted; John Sanders is the father of Sarah, Sarah (Saunders) Turbet.
Stephen Batson, Wells, father of John and Margery.John also has a daughter Margery is married to Rolland Young in 1674.
It is felt that Robert Elliot first child with Margery Batson is born in 1683, he could have had a daughter previously.
John Batson is married to Elizabeth Saunders felt to be the sister of Sarah Saunders who is the widow of Peter Turbet, which Robert Elliot above courted.It is felt that John Batson is the father-in-law to Robert Elliot, so Margery Batson is felt to be a generation younger than, Sarah Saunders.
Batsons, are from Wells, Maine region.
The above of course is left opened to correction.
The daughter Margery of Stephen was an indenture.
Felt Margery Batson the daughter of Stephen, was indentured in 1638, so Margery Batson which Robert Elliot married isthe daughter of John, Stephen's son, named Margery also which would be Stephen's grandaughter.
Mark Elliott 2/5/2012 (correction 2/6/2012) Robert Elliot died in 1720, age 83+
Addition of first recognized marriage to the marriage to Richard (may had Roland before) Young's widow Margery (Batson) Young.
Shows that he married Margery Batson, felt to be grandchild of Stephen Batson, daughter of John Batson Sr. and sister to John Batson Jr.
Robert Elliot married the relict (widow) and Administratrix (lady administrator of estate), of Ric. (Richard) Young of Cape Porpus (Porpoise) decd. (deceased). Which is Margery the daughter of John Batson, of Batson sawmill on Batson River.
First child is felt to be Robert Elliot Jr died at sea 1715 was born after May 29, 1683.
This is felt that Robert Elliot and wife Margery at of before sale of land have moved to the Great Island, Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Above shows that January 6, 1694/5 Robert and Margery were still married.

Udate;
Above shows that Robert Elliott, married a ______Pepperell? ca. 1663? Strawberry Bank, NH/Portland, NH/Gerish's Island/Scarborough, ME/Kittery, ME.
Humphrey Elliot is said to be the son of Robert Elliot, but would have been born to soon to be Margery's son. It is felt that Robert may have been have been working on the John Bray house built and still standing in 1662, besides Sarah Saunders Turbet he could have been courting, the Pepperell, lived in the neighborhood and had daughters.
Robert could have courted and married a Pepperill, daughter, which is the mother of Humphrey, and she could have died soon, after maybe child birth.
Robert Elliot was a carpenter in 1662, and it is felt that he was likely building it or help building it when he was dating the widow of Peter Turbet a Sarah Saunder, and may dated a nearby Pepperell daughter. John Bray house still stands. It is also felt that after the death of Peter Turbet, since sons, Peter was indentured to Champernowne, and oldest son John was bonded so it is felt Sarah Saunders was a servant of the Champernowne. If Robert married a Pepperell then she died soon after his son Humphrey may have been raised in the Champernowne household.
