Robert E. Wilson Gallery The Robert E. Wilson Gallery is a Visual Arts gallery located in the Merillat Centre for the Arts at Huntington University.

Mission Statement: Named in recognition of the generosity of Robert E. Wilson, the Gallery is an academic resource of Huntington University, an independent Christian liberal arts institution. The Robert E. Wilson Gallery is dedicated to educating, enriching and engaging students and the public through art exhibitions of the highest quality and to promoting the visual arts within our community. The Gallery is also dedicated to supporting the educational and faith related mission of Huntington University. The mission of the gallery is to curate and exhibit artwork of emerging and established artists and to collect and preserve artwork of relevance in the permanent collections. The Gallery fulfills this mission by exhibiting original works of art on a rotating basis throughout the academic year and by exhibiting the University Collections in public spaces throughout the campus. The Gallery programming presents a diverse range of innovative exhibitions and educational programs, exploring contemporary art and ideas enriching the artistic and intellectual climate of the university and Huntington community area. The Wilson gallery strives to provide a venue for academic endeavors, artistic freedom, artistic excellence, and display of artistic and intellectual skills, knowledge, creativity, and expression. We believe the gallery is important to arts education and arts appreciation of the individual and our society. The gallery also provides an essential component in the education of the visual artist, with exposure to original works of art and an exhibition venue, within a professional gallery to acquire basic skills and experience inherent with staging exhibitions of their own creative work. The Wilson Gallery accomplishes these goals by curating seven to eight exhibitions annually that explore various media, processes, and genres to foster dialogue in and out of the classroom. In addition to the work of emerging and established artists we offer annual exhibitions of outstanding work by students, department of art and design alumni, and faculty. All exhibitions are accompanied by gallery talks or lectures during a reception that is free and open to the public. Exhibitions are organized, curated and supported by the Department of Art and Design, The Robert E. Wilson Gallery Director and guest curators.
