Nigeria's annual traffic fatality rate wasreported as 5,000 in 2009 (3% of population) .

    2 major contributors; Potholes & Subsidence .

Contributing Factors:1. Asphalt is the predominant construction

material.2. Acid rainfall, extreme direct heat, heavy

commercial vehicle traffic, brake dust residue.3. On-going funding for repairs not sufficient to

keep up with the rate at which roads arecrumbling.

    4. Tyre adherence on road makes traveldangerous.

    5. Traditional asphalt sees a road increase in theambient temp by an extra 20C lifting someroads to a temp of +60C

    6. Typical Nigerian rainy season (acid rain) fromMarch to the end of July and early-Septemberto mid-October.

RepairDespite the $1 billion allocation for repairingtransport infrastructure planned by the Nigeriangovernment in 2010, problems with the roadscontinue.

Nigeria has among the highest number of roadaccidents in the world, added to injuries, deathsand damaged vehicles, high transport costs

represent a significant drain on the Federaleconomy - source Peoplesdailyonline.com.

Additional Dangers Some roads became so bad that north central

areas such as Danja and Sabuwa were cut off

from traffic. FERMA, repaired about 2,796 miles of road in

2010, but the number of roads that needattention is still an immense problem.

Nigeria has a large roadnetwork in Africa 193,200km .

    17.6% FederalGovernment,15.7% State Govtand 66.7% Local roads

Federal Roads carry 70% ofTotal freight traffic annually.

Nigeria road freight twice thatof USA

Only 15% of these roads arepaved with 28% notmotorable.

Roads construction in Nigeriavery expensive, cost over-runs,delayed completion and poorquality

Nigerians pay an estimatedN450Billion yearly torehabilitate vehicles plying ourroads.

Loss of valuable lives. $3.5Billion spending on road

infrastructure required inorder to meet NV20:2020

    Cement Manufacturers

Association of Nigeria CMAN isseriously canvassing use ofconcrete to asphalt/Laterite

    Benchmarking againstinternational practice- roads in

developed countries are madeof cement concrete as toasphalt/laterite.

40% of roads in developedcountries are cement concretecompared to 0.1% in Africa

    Nigerias Challenge

    Concrete Cement Use

Strong potential for Private SectorInvestment due to this policy reformssupporting concrete cement use (AfricanFinance Corporation).

For 15 years, Photo-catalytic titanium dioxide hasbeen introduced into a number of products in Asiaand parts of Europe.

Facts: A patented technology, not freely available

within construction materials; like Cement! Uses ultraviolet rays from small amounts of

natural and artificial light, together with waterand oxygen (all of which are clean energy

sources):1. Generating an oxidizing effect, decomposing

and eliminating harmful organic substances thatimpact upon any materials it is mixed into.

    2. An effect that enhances durability, giving self-cleaning, anti-pollution and anti-bacterialcapability, significantly lengthening the lifecycleof materials it is mixed with.

Environan holds the exclusive African rights to use the Patented P-CTO1 (photo-catalytic titanium dioxide) formula - which has 15-years of robust andscientifically verified results, when mixed within construction materials.

Environan has partnered with Water-Top International Limited within Nigeria, tobring leading-edge photo-catalytic titanium dioxide based construction productsto Africa.

Together this partnership offers the following :1. Addressing the rapid deterioration of African roads, by deploying the P-

CTO1 formula into new construction materials creating a true 15-yearroad life cycle.

    2. Addressing the on-going cost and project lead-times associated with therestoration of deteriorated existing roads

    3. To work with Federal road teams to deploy a superior, affordable roadsolution, which up-lifts durability standards, whilst delivering improved

road safety and a reduction in vehicle damage and pollution.

Environan mortar is simply floodedacross the surface andautomatically penetrates the voidsof the open graded asphalt layer.Has a fast strength developmentand is shrinkage compensated toreduce the amount of micro cracksin the surface and avoid damagingcracks in the system.

The fast strength developmentin the system enable floors, roads and other traffic areas tobe restored into service 12 -24hours after application

    1. Reduces polluted air into harmless residuals (up to90%), antibacterial capacity from oxy-reduction ofmicro organism.

    2. Smell abatement, reduction of acid rain andreduction of CO2 emission, due to lowerphotochemical pollution photochemical production(1tons/year every 20 sqm)

    3. High strength and stability, less deformation onsurface. Better Grip (adherence) on surface, less

slipping due to a cleaner surface4. Resistance in case of Fire.5. Proven and tested by major worldwide institutions

for Photo-catalytic efficiency, mechanical behaviorand its strength.

    1. Ideal in African climates (sun to activatedurability and rain to support self-cleaning).

    2. Multiple road application methods, suit everytype of road construction/refurbishment need inNigeria.

    3. Proven globally on road networks, airports and

pedestrian areas, quickly and easily applied torelease immediate Return On Investment.

    4. Additional on-savings due to 10 year lifecycle removes refurbishment cost in years 3 to 10.

    5. Nigerian innovative solution to address any on-going maintenance operations whilst deploying

the 7-years of road network construction. Post2020 a strong, world leading road network tosupport international commerce objectives.

    6. Additional benefit through positively reducingthe N450Billion annual vehicle damage cost toNigerian road users, due to damaged roadsurfacing.
