General: Job Title: 3G Radio Network Optimisation (RNO) Engineer Job Family: Services Date: 1st July 2014 Job Grade:8Job Specialty: Radio Network Planning and Optimisation Basic Purpose: 3G (WCDMA) Radio Network Planning and Optimisation in a Managed Services environment. Nokia is contracted to provide Managed Services to Airtel Tanzania and the RNO Engineer will be responsible mainly, but not limited to, optimising the network towards achieving and maintaining performance above targets in Quality metrics set out on the SLA’s. Job Magnitude: Important contributor to development of the overall goals and objectives of the company. Erroneous decision or recommendation would normally result in critical problems to the network performance which directly impacts the company revenue from the Managed Service contract. Main Responsibility and Duties: • Fine tune Radio Parameters for Network Quality Improvement to meet agreed KPI targets • Plan Radio Network Parameters for new sites. • Prepare and analyse Radio Network Performance Indicators and Counters Reports. • Carry out Technical Site Surveys for various Projects including new sites • Carry out Physical Site Optimisation. • Carry out Drive Test Activities whenever needed. • Coordinate various projects from Radio Network point of view • Perform Site Acceptance for new integrations including new sites • Supervise Drive Test projects by third parties. • Preparation and maintenance of Radio Network Site Database. Supplementary Accountabilities Department shall have the following supplementary responsibilities. • Carry out any other activities required by the immediate supervisor. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: • Works on special projects as assigned Essential Knowledge: • Radio Network Optimisation on WCDMA • Multivendor (Ericsson and Huawei at least) expertise of WCDMA Optimisation tools • Radio Network Planning with Mentum Planet, Nastar and Netact. • Drive Test with XCAL, NEMO, GENEX PROBE and TEMS • Drive Test Post processing with TEMS, Gladiator and actix/Analyzer. • Excellent knowledge of company’s objectives and strategies. High level knowledge; applies technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Exhibits good level of creativity and resourcefulness. Position Requirements 

The Engineer should be able to travel under short notice.
