ASSEMBLY:
1. Screw Mandrel into LowerHousing. Assemble Alignment Ringon Mandrel. Note that AlignmentRing and Mandrel are Splinedtogether. Screw Mandrel into Lowerhousing until it bottoms out. Backoff the Mandrel 1-2 Turns until the 0ºscribe marks line up. See Fig. 1.(Back off 2 turns maximum)
2. Insert setscrew in Lower Housing.Hand tighten into recess in Mandrel.
3. Screw on Upper Housing until itshoulders up. You are now ready totorque ABH.
ADJUSTMENT:
1. ABH is now Torqued and set on0º. Tong the Upper and LowerHousings and Break Connection.
2. Holding the Lower Housing,Loosen the Setscrew (Back Screwout of Detent)
3. Tong the Alignment Ring and turnto line up desired Angle (1º in thiscase Fig. 2)
4. Hand tighten Setscrew into newdetent position.
5. Tong Upper and Lower Housingsand Torque connection.
6. Torque Setscrew.

Motor operation Procedure
All Renegade motors are prepped to specification before being sentto the job site. Connections are torqued and adjustable housing/fixedbend is set to the desired angle requested. The bit box and top subhave thread protectors installed. The bit box of each motor isstamped with the motor serial number. Renegade will set up the mudmotor to best perform in various drilling conditions- including hothole, oil based and caustic drilling fluids. To ensure damages havenot occurred during shipping, the motor should be visually inspectedupon arrival at the rig site. The motor must also be checked forproper configuration.
To insure proper operation of the motor, a shallow test isrecommended. Running a float on top of the motor to preventdamage to the motor is also recommended. A float sub will beprovided if the motor does not already incorporate a top sub boredfor a float. It is recommended to break circulation periodically, whentripping in the hole. Especially if heat is a factor. As a reference,pressure readings should be recorded. The readings will assist indiagnosing any problems that may occur.
Avoid dropping or ‘spudding’ the motor on the bottom of the holewhen starting. Initiate by circulating a few feet off bottom, raising theflow rate to the recommendations of the particular motor. To achieveoptimum differential pressure, apply weight gradually. Specifiedmaximum differential pressure should not be exceeded. If the powerdemand exceeds the output of the motor, the motor may stall.Immediately shut off the pumps if the motor stalls while sliding. Pullthe motor off bottom, and restart if this occurs. Shut down the pumpsand rotary immediately if the motor stalls while rotating. Pull offbottom, and restart. Damage to the power section will occur as aresult of prolonged stalling. Drain the motor and reinstall threadprotectors when the motor run is completed.
