Over 25 years our presence in developing and emerging markets has grown significantly. We are differentiated from our competitors in our ability to respond to service and support needs after the product has been delivered…particularly important where basic infrastructure services like power and communications are often wanting.

We continue to perfect our transportation, fleet and purpose-built vehicle capabilities, while placing added importance on power generation, heavy equipment, and communications projects … these infrastructure needs all go hand-in-hand.

Most significantly, we have placed major emphasis on our support networks, investing in systems, people and technologies to meet customer after-sale requirements. RMA’s supply chain capabilities and support mechanisms are every bit as important as the quality and reliability of the products we sell.

Superior products and exceptional service will continue to be the distinguishing aspects of RMA in all the markets we serve. Agility, commitment and attitude will always be part of our approach.”

MILESTONES

RMA started life as a trading company focused primarily on the greater Mekong region. The RMA story really began when purchasing Rochester Midland’s regional pharmaceutical distribution office, creating Rochester Midland Asia – or RMA, as it is still known today.

RMA became a Ford dealer in Cambodia in ’97, and to this day it continues to represent Ford Motor Company in many markets worldwide.

Ford designated RMA as a global distributor to the Aid and Development sector, representative of its expertise in automotive distribution and in providing quality modifications which are harmonized with OEM vehicles.

RMA’s early success in regional distribution enabled it to compete for world-class brands seeking representation in the region. Ingersoll-Rand, 3M, SDMO and Jeep Chrysler were examples of the large companies represented by RMA in its first decade of operation. This lead to the development of RMA’s footprint in Asia, with offices in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and East Timor.

RMA began operations in Afghanistan – one of the country’s true “modern history pioneers,” and establishing itself as a trusted partner in post-conflict and emerging markets.

RMA became Ford’s only Qualified Vehicle Modifier in Asia Pacific, as it simultaneously set about growing its operations in Afghanistan and into West and South Africa. RMA was awarded Equipment Maintenance and Apprenticeship Service Program (EMAS) in Afghanistan by the US Army.

RMA acquired Guava International to manage the Land Rover dealership network, expanding to 28 markets spanning from Central Europe to Asia.

GM, Mazda, JCB and Tata brands were added to RMA’s network operations, making it a genuine world-leading partner to the global automotive sector.

RMA Indonesia began serving customers from offices in Jakarta, offering products and services to the mining and oil & gas sectors, government fleets and NGO groups across the country.

RMA also opened an office in Turkey to manage contracts for Ford Cargo trucks and Ford Transit vans and buses with Ford Otosan.

RMA became the authorized distributor for Ford and Land Rover in Kazakhstan.

The company also added value to its product and service offering by extending its Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier program to its Indonesian and South African facilities.

RMA quickly grew to encompass four new divisions - Engineering, Construction, Automotive, Trading & Logistics.

RMA’s production capacity increased dramatically in Thailand as well as expanding with a new facility in South Africa.
