The Fishing
The River Tweed Salmon fishing season runs from 1st February to 30th

Spin/Gear fishing is allowed on most beats of this river until 15th September.
To fly fish for Salmon we use 13ft - 15ft double handed fly rods from Loop
Tackle and traditional and modern Spey casting techniques.
Don’t worry if you are inexperienced, tuition from a qualified professional will
be provided at no extra cost. A lesson prior to visit is recommended.
Waders, boots, safety and full fishing equipment hire is included in your

Scotia Fishing’s Terms & Conditions
By purchasing our packages you fully understand the following Scotia Fishing terms and
conditions.
Payment
Payment can be made by debit/credit cards using out payment system, paypal or bank/wire
transfers.
We ask for a minimum 50% non refundable deposit on booking. On occasions when permits
exceed this we will ask for the full permit price which will be non refundable (see cancellations for
details)
We request that the balance of payment is made at least 28 days prior to your booking.
Bookings made with less than 28 days to commencement, we request payment in full at the time
of booking.
Bookings When a booking is made it is on the understanding that you have fully read and accepted our
terms and conditions of business.
All bookings will be confirmed via Email.
All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible paying adult/guardian.
It is a clear booking condition that you fully accept the hazards involved in the fishing environment
and your engagement with potentially dangerous activities.
Cancellations If Scotia Fishing makes the decision to cancel a coaching or guiding session due to extreme
weather conditions beyond their control, for example extremely high winds making casting
dangerous, water conditions/ river levels in spate or for any other reason; then either an
alternative fishing option will be offered on the day, a re-scheduled date or a refund minus any
permit fees (which are non refundable when Salmon fishing regardless of weather). Whichever is
most acceptable to the client.
Almost all fishing guides are self employed and rely on guiding as their main source of
income. Upon booking your day the guide cannot accept any further work opportunities on that
day, therefore cancelling seriously limits their chance of earning money on that day.

If a client wishes to cancel a booking a minimum of 28 days notice must be given by letter or
email. If less than fourteen days notice is given then only an alternate date will be offered. Any
rearranged bookings after a cancellation must take place within a twelve month period.
If fishing permits, catering or other arrangements have been made for a client’s booking which has
resulted in costs to Scotia Fishing which cannot be recovered from any third party supplier, and
that booking is cancelled for any reason then those costs will still be chargeable and will be
recovered from the client.
If conditions are unsuitable we will do our best to reschedule an alternative fishing on the day.
This may incur an added permit cost on some occasions.
Fishing break cancellations
All fishing breaks/vacations will incur a non refundable 52% deposit upon booking. This is to cover
accommodation and admin costs our end.
Liability Scotia Fishing cannot be held liable to any conditions out with our reasonable control.
When a refund is given due to cancellation by Scotia Fishing, the liability will only extend to the
value of the coaching or guiding session that has been cancelled and not to any additional costs
incurred by the client.
