In the rapidly evolving retail scenario, RW has successfully carved a niche for its brand of merchandise, which today has a loyal following.

Currently, the group has 10 stores (including the newly opened store at Jalandhar) in Delhi & NCR, and Punjab, and is rapidly expanding throughout North India.

The brand ambassador – none other than Malaika Arora Khan. For those closely associated with the changing themes of RW,

the delightful part remains that the brand is still about hardcore family values.

RW currently owns ten major outlets; five of which are in Delhi & NCR (3 in Lajpat Nagar, 1 each Rohini, Noida, Kaushambi, Faridabad and Indirapuram and two in Punjab (Amritsar & recently open 40,000sqft store at Jalandhar).

The stores are stocked with international and national brands in apparel, footwear, lifestyle accessories, toys, luggage, and home products, and every thing else associated with contemporary trends.

1965 : RW enters the Indian fashion industry with a 200 sq. ft. children’s wear store owned by the enterprising Mrs J.D Sahni at Lajpat Nagar

2000 : With the advent of global players, and local Indian retail outlets rapidly disappearing from the fashion scene, RW spreads its wings with new showrooms, new range of fashion wear, accessories, and retail outlets of its own

2003 : Noida gets its share of family fashion with opening of its showroom

2004 : Exclusive showroom for men opened at Lajpat Nagar 2005 : New showroom opened at Kaushambi, Ghaziabad, served to

cater to customers who, until now, were far from RW stores 2006 : Ritu Wears takes retail to a new level by opening Delhi’s

biggest family fashion outlet in Rohini 2007 : Creates a buzz with a big family fashion store in Punjab

(Amritsar). 2009 : Ritu Wears opens a new family fashion store in

Faridabad.Opens a brand new family store in Indirapuram.

FUTURE ENDEAVORS

With a vision to establish itself as India’s leading fashion & lifestyle brand with global values, JDS United is planning major investments and introducing new retail concepts in the rapidly evolving organised retail landscape in India.

RW will shortly venture into the smaller towns and cities of Model Town (Delhi), Agra, Panipat, Meerut, Moradabad, Bareilly, Jaipur, Jalandhar and Dehradun, to name a few. JDS United is planning to open 10 new stores in North India by the end of 2009 in the 1st phase of its expansion, with a target to reach a turnover of Rs. 400 crores.

After redefining retail in North India, the group will be targeting Central India, followed by East & West India, to achieve a landmark turnover of Rs. 1,000 crores by 2011-12. 

Though the expansion strategy is planned in a way that would immediately fast track growth; associations/ strategic tie-ups or equity dilution would further catalyse the group’s long-term growth plans and objectives.
